"I've walked by this charming little bistro numerous times and finally decided to give it a shot. I'm so glad I did! It was a chilly evening, so I started with a cup of hot tea. While it wasn't particularly strong, it had a lovely flavor and was served piping hot. For appetizers, I ordered the jalapeño yellowtail sashimi and masago nigiri topped with a quail egg. Both dishes were delicious and the portion sizes were generous. For the main course, I opted for the Thai curry chicken. I didn't specify a spice level, just to see what they would serve."

I had a wonderful experience with fantastic flavors. The service was excellent, with great attention to detail. The fish was fresh, and the sushi chef demonstrated impressive knowledge about the different types of fish.

The Thai Basil Chicken was fantastic! It was cooked perfectly and had the perfect balance of chicken, vegetables, and spices. I would definitely return to this place if I'm in the area again. The overall atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable.

Absolutely loved it! This was one of my favorite sushi experiences. The Mermaid roll was incredible, and the shrimp and broccoli were also delightful. Everything we ordered was fantastic. Plus, it's in a charming area that's nice for a stroll too!

Such a beautiful restaurant should have taken more pictures. But the way the food was presented and tasted was absolutely delicious! Wish I lived closer to come here everyday, but I’ll be coming here every chance I get. Even the menu was beautifully organized and clean. View menu

Went here after voting! Such a cute little corner spot. We got miso, gyoza, Godzilla roll and the Alaskan with the customizable addition of cream cheese (big bonus points! Everything was delicious! The staff was very friendly as well. And the music playing was great too!

Great place to get sushi and other favorites. Tempura looked good, although I didn’t taste it, only admired from afar. Gyoza was fabulous. They only have indoor seating. I believe they do take away as well. Additional seating on the second floor. Service was exceptional. We will definitely return!

Oh, the most wonderful place. Every bite is perfectly delicious. The staff is nice and the place is super cute, placed in the middle of Old Town Alexandria. The view!! Back to food, we eat there, take out. Sushi is fresh, excellently prepared, other dishes as well for the whole family and all taste buds. View menu

Kisso was fantastic! Whether you're dining in or getting takeout, the experience is exceptional. I tried the seaweed salad, spicy tuna rolls, salmon and avocado rolls, and tuna nigiri, and everything was delicious! My fiancée ordered the angry dragon roll and enjoyed it as well. Plus, the location is unbeatable—it's right in the heart of Old Town!

We had an afternoon family photo shoot in Old Towne and hungry tummies brought us to Kisso, a corner restaurant. We were in the front corridor upon entering and was greeted at the front and seated. We ordered and drinks and our miso soup arrived first. My daughtet said it tasted like sea water. Our entrees followed and as appetizing as they appeared, the seasoning on the rice dishes and drunken noodle?s flavor was a bit overpowered by the spiciness, however, my daughter had

"This place really helped me adjust. I later learned that people gravitate towards certain bars, and I found my favorites, especially those with live music like Birchmere, Black Cat, 9:30 Club, Lincoln, Capital One Arena, and even the now-closed O'Shaughnessy's and Rock & Roll Hotel. One of my most memorable experiences was running into Rory Sheridan on one of my first visits. He was launching his DC music campaign back then and was part of Loud Boyz. We chatted a few times, and I even caught up with some old classmates. Another highlight was when I heard about a “reunion” night before Thanksgiving, and I decided to crash it. There were moments where people could be unkind or I felt out of place, but I was given some guidance on where I would fit in better, without the unnecessary drama. Being in Old Town, I was familiar with nearby schools like West Potomac, Mount Vernon, and Bishop Ireton. During my visits, I would often take an Alexandria cab or use Metro Access, being discreet about my disability since I felt embarrassed at times. Being a regular meant navigating the tourist scene, and there were people who seemed territorial about the place, but I ended up doing quite well when I sold my house. Good times continued with events like watching RG3 play for the Redskins or meetups organized by JT. I enjoyed New Year’s celebrations and weekend outings. I also frequented other establishments like Flying Fish before it closed, and O'Shaughnessy's before I decided to stop drinking. This is a sports bar located near a bicycle shop, close to the Ben & Jerry's I used to work at, along with many other walkable bars for bar hopping, like Union Street Pub and Fish Market. It can be a great place to have fun, but with the good comes some downsides. Overall, I felt well-hosted and respected here, despite some things I was not initially aware of or didn’t want to uncover."
