"Decided to try a new Indian restaurant tonight. I went to try Kohinoor in Orem. It was busy so that was a good sign. Since it was packed, I justed wanted to do a to go order. But my first red flag should have been what the waiter said. I asked for a type of naan and he said that was too hard of a dish for the chef to make. What?!?!? Then why is it on the menu. The next thing he said really bug me and he said, oh, the chef is too busy to make that. Seriously?!?!? But hey, I want to at least try something to review tonight so I didn 't want to venture too far from the familiar. I ordered the Kohinoor Mix Kabob. It was the biggest chunks of chicken not in a kabob style at all. The lamb you can see shriveled up on the left which looked like some sort of ground lamb sausage instead of a cubed piece of meat. The chicken tandoori and chicken tikka could have been cut in quarters from the pieces that I got. The shrimp was good and the chicken was a bit dry. The chicken tikka masala, well, I asked for very hot. Compared to India Palace 's spice level it would be a 5 or mild there. Also why was it so sweet? The chicken in this was completely dried out. The sauce helped a bit, but a chunk of dried chicken instantly kills the palette. I was very disappointed, but I don 't waste food, so I have some disappointing leftovers for tomorrow. Would I come back? Probably not, maybe I 'll give them 6-8 months to get things in order and hopefully the chef knows how to cook everything by then. The garlic naan is alright. Barely any garlic flavor to it at all. The rice they gave me enough to feed a few people. Good thing rice is my staple. At least they got the rice right. #thisishowichow @kohinoor_orem"

Place is ok. If you are in Orem and don’t want to go to India Palace or Bombay House this will do. If you have a bit extra time, go to one of the other two. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

First time having Indian food and it was so good. My husband had the chicken curry with medium heat and I had mild mushroom lamb. We also had some kebabs and Naan bread as well as their fried onions. Great service and great food. Will probably return to try something new! View menu

I am a semi-regular customer of this situation and I really like their dishes, I had some interesting visits where the servers were a little steadfast and disappeared completely as soon as the food appears. HOWEVER, who would never stop me from coming to her lunch. It is a good food with good vegetarian options. View menu

Pro?s good location, decent customer service and nice ambiance with good seating arrangements. Cons we ordered paneer masala and navratna korma which came with rice. Paneer masala was really tangy, navratna korma had a weird taste. The rice did taste okay. Overall the food wasn?t upto the mark. Surely need some taste assistance in the kitchen.

Kohinoor serves the best indian food in Utah County, and maybe even all of Utah. Sorry, the pictures aren't awesome, but hey, this is Google Reviews, not Instagram, lol. We got Butter Chicken, Malai Kofta, naan, and cheese naan. The Malai Kofta (veggie balls that are deep fried and then cooked in an excellent creamy sauce) was phenomenal, and obviously Butter Chicken is always great. Highly recommend! Excellent service. We called in and got takeout (because of COVID-19, they are not currently doing dine-in, which is good), and the whole process was smooth. UPDATE: They also have a fantastic lunch special! Highly recommend.

"I feel torn on what to review Spicy Thai.. I had been years ago and remembered it being good. I came with some friends on a Friday evening. The restaurant was packed! We waited about 10 minutes before a table was ready no big deal. Our waiter took awhile to come and ask us what we wanted to drink. We browsed the menu and knew quickly what we all wanted to order. It took around 15 minutes for our waiter to come back after giving us our drinks and order our food. My husband and I ordered the egg rolls, pad Thai, and massman curry. The appetizer took around 20 minutes to come out, followed by the food about 20 more minutes. I know that it was a Friday night but the restaurant isn't that big. I don't know why it took so long to get our drinks and food. Our waiter brought the food and brought us the wrong curry. We had to ask for our massman curry. It was shortly brought out with no apology. The eggs rolls were tasty. They were very hot and full of filling. The chili sauce was the perfect amount of sweet and heat. The pad Thai was very good. It was a very generous portion and full of chicken which was a great surprise. The peanuts added a good texture. I was very impressed with this. The massman curry was only okay. It wasn't that flavorful and tasted like it was lacking or missing something. I did appreciate how much chicken was in it but would've liked to see more carrots and potatoes. The rice was cooked well. The food was nice and hot when it came out. It was very fresh. The reason for the three stars in the service. As mentioned above, it took awhile for all the food to come out. Our drinks were never refilled. After we got our food, our waiter never checked on us. We finished eating and had to ask a different waiter for boxes and our checks. The service needs to improve. I will be back for the food though."
