"Unfortunately, I have not had the honor of trying the food here yet but I can tell it is delicious. That said, every time I'm here, the staff is always very friendly with me. I'm speaking as a GrubHub driver. I'm going to go the extra mile and give them a shout out because I left my sunglasses behind when picking up a delivery awhile back, and Samir kept them for me and have them to me next time I had an order from that place. I will update this review when I finally have the honor of eating there. And based off of my experiences there so far as a driver, I can only imagine that my experience will be even better as a customer and that's saying something."

"The dining room was clean and the service was great. The fried cheese appetizer wasn 't bad either. Unfortunately it 's a depressing dining room that looks straight out of the 1980s, the bread is out of a bag and served with little plastic butter packages like it 's a greasy spoon diner, the pasta is obviously out of a box and WAY overpriced, and the whole business just feels like it 's coasting and the passion has been gone for a long time. My wife ordered pasta with creamy marinara and sauteed spicy peppers. The creamy marinara is a thin, runny, broken sauce with oil floating at the top, and the peppers were barely cooked. If you want a giant portion of lazy cafeteria food it 's terrific. The website says pizza is available starting at noon on Saturday but if you make the mistake of believing that you 'll be told the pizza guy doesn 't come in until 4. Fortunately I didn 't make the mistake of ordering one of their pasta dishes and we left to go eat somewhere else that isn 't charging 2024 prices for 1984 cuisine Whoever owns this place should be embarrassed. Also it 's a code violation not to illuminate your fire exit sign."

"We discovered this restaurant while traveling, and it turned out to be the highlight of our evening. The atmosphere felt very familial, with different groups celebrating special events. Each group seemed to be having a great time and enjoying their meals. The staff was attentive yet unobtrusive, allowing us to enjoy our food and conversations. It's evident that this is an excellent venue for hosting events."

"Never again. The owner made me feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome. I spent nearly $20 for a simple sandwich and drink. I ordered ahead and planned to take my order to-go, but I decided last-minute that I would just have my lunch there. I grabbed my order and took a seat. It wasn’t five minutes later, the owner asked to bring me a plate (as opposed to the to-go container). While I appreciated the gesture, I just didn’t think it was necessary and politely declined. He was noticeably infuriated by my response (stormed off while shaking his head and mumbling). He disappeared around the corner, and I heard a door slam. I was confused, upset, and embarrassed. So, I will never go there again. It’s a shame because I work downtown and my office loves Mocha House, but we will pass from now on."

"Our first visit; no, actually I was in The Royal Oaks once before 55 years ago as a teen. Anyways... from the outside it's rundown, tired, and kind of scarey. On the inside it's also rundown, tired, and charming. Nothing has been updated or remodeled. It's got character like 1955 all over again but with 70 years of patina. The waitress/barmaid (Heather) was a sweetheart. Big smile, welcoming, friendly. Welcomed us, made suggestions, checked on us repeatedly and brought more ice cold beer without being asked a woman after my heart. The food was outstanding. Better bbq ribs (w/raspberry sauce) than I make at home; meaty, moist, delicious. The Buffalo wings were perfect, crispy and seasoned perfectly. My wife's cheeseburger was also excellent. The co owner (John Kennedy) came over, introduced himself, checked on us, and held a pleasant conversation. The other patrons were a mix of young old, black white, and everyone was friendly happy. Lots of laughter, this is a happy place. From the outside it's easy to pass on by but that is a mistake. I wish there were more places like The Royal Oaks. Highly recommended."
