"TL/DR: There?s a lot of potential but the place really needs to fix its issues around food and service. The review is from the PoV of a South Indian who grew up in TamilNadu, and needless to say the judgement comes from a very high level of standard, ascompared to a review of any other cuisine such as Mexican, Italian etc. That being said, I really wanted, with all my heart, forit to a good experience and was really looking forward to it. About an year back, lunch time conversation among non-Indians atwork was that the place had some good food. But honestly, we had a disappointing experience. We were a group of 4 people,ordered 2 vegetarian thali, two dosas, a vada and milagu rasam. The rasam never came. The thalis were ok at best, decent valuefor the price but very average taste. At least they came out quickly. But I don?t think we?d come back specifically to eat thethali. Two dosas took more than 40 mins to come, by which time the two people who had thali finished their meal. And the chutneywas straight out of the fridge and cold and the dosas had gone pretty cold too by the time we got it. The very least that needsto be good at a South Indian restaurant is the dosa and that ended up being not great too. Looked like there was only one personat the front desk who was also handling the orders at the table, cleaning tables, bringing food etc. Three cheers to that personwho despite doing all this still had a smile on his face. The restaurant concept is great and South Indian food is unique tothe twin cities and there is quite a bit of demand but I feel like it?s all just not coming together at this restaurant. Withfood not living up to the mark and service very slow, I?d rather eat South Indian food that I can cook for myself at home thango here. It?s probably worth a visit for many especially non-Indians if you haven?t had South indian food) and maybe you?llhave a better experience but I don?t think we are going back here."

One of the nice Indian restaurants. Great food. I have been here more than couple of times. Weekends are normally too crowded. We had to wait a lot of time after ordering because of lack of people to serve the food(that's why giving one star less)

It was our first time here, the food and service were very good, they have a nice variety offerings to choose from. I took a picture of what the server called Puriputi, we tried the savory and sweet ones, I was impressed with crispy fragile shell. You need to quickly and the cold liquid and pop it into your mouth, delicious.

BEST FOOD AND PEOPLE ! I’ve been coming here for 2 years now and I make the drive from Minneapolis only for Kumar’s. I get the weekend buffet which I would highly recommend, the food quality has been consistently great. For South Indian food (honestly for Indian food in general) I would only recommended this place in the Twin Cities.

We have been to the Kumar’s back in Dallas and we were ecstatic when we found out they have a branch here too. We tried Mutton biriyani, Chennai chili chicken and grilled pomfret. Everything tasted great. The portion size is good, and the service is great as well. Definitely worth a try and needless to say we will be returning for that biriyani. View menu

The variety is really refreshing. The buffet is about $21 and for the number of items, it’s worth it. Although some items are passable, many are good. Totally worth it if you are looking to try something new and want variety.Vegetarian options: separate veg and non veg buffet stations ensures that those who are vegetarian can feel good about the place.

Me and my Daughter stopped in just before they were closing and they were so nice to still offer service to us. We ordered two different kinds of chicken curry, one bone in and one boneless, and garlic nann. Everything was delicious and fresh. The service was 5 star! Best experience and the best curry I've ever had. We will definitely be coming back soon! Thank you for letting us eat after the restuarant closed, that was really nice.

A wonderful spot in a section of strip malls. Must visit for the experience- it may become a regular spot for AYCE Indian for $11.99! The service was great- very attentive young man!Food: Very delicious with about 20 different varieties. Ranged from vegetarian to meat dishes. I recently left a review on Google Maps to recommend this restaurant, which I found through the HappyCow app, known for highlighting vegan and vegetarian-friendly establishments. My colleague and I visited on Thursday, May 27th, at 8:00 pm. It was her first experience with Indian cuisine, and I was excited to introduce her to some new flavors. The restaurant had a varied and enticing menu, and as a vegan, I appreciated that the vegetarian options were clearly labeled. When I asked our server for vegan dish recommendations, he suggested the Chennai chili cauliflower and the channa masala. Unfortunately, I never received the Chennai chili appetizer, but the channa masala was quite satisfying....

Absolutely magnificent chicken biryani!! I haven’t had chicken biryani in years and today I was desperate for this incredible dish! This was the closest restaurant to me and I called and ordered and they said it would be ready in 15/20 minutes for pick up.
