"When you enter a restaurant on a Friday night at 5:45 and question whether it is open, it may be a sign that you are in for an unusual evening. Despite having a reservation, we were not asked for our name. My wife requested a bottle of Cabernet, only to be informed that they did not have any Cabernet available. The wine we ended up with was satisfactory, the bread was decent, the service was satisfactory, but the food left much to be desired. The lasagna was a dense mass of unidentified cheese, and my wife's ravioli dish consisted of just three raviolis. Although the service was attentive, the lack of other customers in the restaurant was unexpected. Overall, it was a peculiar evening."

The food was just okay, but the experience was elevated by the talented piano player and singer.

Seats in the dining room are all stained and extremely dirty. No one even brought us a glass of water for over 10 minutes.

They were very short handed because it was Christmas but they did their best and we appreciated it. Would definitely go back. View menu

We were seated 35 minutes late even though we were 5 minutes early for our reservation time. The service was slow and lacking. The food was completely underwhelming. I expect better from a pre-theatre restaurant.

We went to the restaurant before the show. We had 2 hours and 15 minutes to have dinner and ended up feeling rushed. The food was good, but the service was quite slow. The wine we ordered for $40 a bottle was terrible. It was marked up four times the store price.

Service was shockingly poor. Bar was missing standard brands. Told waiter we were pre-theater. It had no effect on the speed at which the meal was served, which was slow. Menu did not accurately describe ingredients in dishes. Dinner included dessert. No one asked if we wanted dessert or coffee. All in all an awful experience. View menu

My co-diner’s burger was burnt on the outside and raw on the inside (she had asked for medium). When she sent it back it returned well done, and still burnt on the outside. She likened it to eating a “hockey puck.” Half of my food was put down on the far corner of the table, and the other dish Was placed in the middle, nothing in front of me. The waiter forgot to bring more bread with the meal, even though I requested it.

We really enjoy La Rivista for a pre-theatre dinner. They have good food, good service and a pleasant atmosphere. They offer a reasonably priced fixed-price dinner. Also, it 's usually quiet, which makes it great for conversation. They removed an entree that I love from the menu, the Mushroom Ravioli, but I 'm hoping they bring it back. Also, I wish they 'd offer sorbet as a desert option, for those of us who are health conscious!

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
