"We wanted to order a bottle of Riesling from the Mosel Valley, which was also available by the glass. When we requested to taste the wine before making our purchase, we were told that this wasn't allowed due to their policy. I questioned this and suggested that we could try the bottle, and if we didn’t like it, they could sell it by the glass. The server responded, “That’s not how we do things here, sir.” Unfortunately, the wine turned out to be sweeter than I expected, and I would have preferred to choose a different bottle that was $10 more.
Management should take note of this ineffective sales approach. Overall, the food was good, but it felt overpriced for the quality. The panini was simply a roasted sandwich, not grilled as I had anticipated. The meats and sides were decent, but the descriptions were lacking, both in writing and verbally.
It was also frustrating when they asked if we wanted more wine while we still had full glasses, and offered the dessert menu before we were even halfway through our meal. While we appreciated the charm of downtown Greer and recognize this may be one of the nicer restaurants, the overall experience didn't make us feel inclined to return or recommend it to others."
