"We were in the Highland Park area and this place has been on my radar. Stopped on late Sunday morning. Street parking can be a challenge . You enter thru their gift shop where they offer branded merchandise, tea and vinyl records. Prices are not cheap but many items are unique and cannot be purchased elsewhere. Lots of re-released Smashing Pumpkins records since this place is owned by Billy Corgan. They have various coffees, apps and sandwiches listed on the wall along with a separate menu with daily specials and teas. Prices are not listed on their tea or coffee menu so ask before you order as some of the specialty tea drinks can get pricey. We ordered the breakfast taco special which came with 3 tacos and breakfast potatoes. Not sure why they were called Breakfast tacos. Toppings was only 1 onion slice and a few leafs of cilantro. We ordered the pork, beef and chorizo but quite frankly they all tasted the same and were very bland. Nothing had flavor. We also tied a gluten free chocolate brownie which was ok but didn 't seem fresh..maybe a day old. Limited seating is available and they had a guitar player while we ate which was a nice touch The place has a cool vibe and I would go back but probably for just a drink and a pastry."

Cookies and matcha are good, other food is not worth the money. It tastes microwaved yet still cold?

A very cute cafe in highland park with tons of space and merchandise. Near the metra with lots of tables for working. Would recommend!

Just wanted a quick yummy plant based lunch and got the opposite. Took over 60 min for grilled cheese and a cup of soup that were both so bad.

Vegan place done wrong, could have been so much better with a nice interior yet the food is flat as fart. Lacks initiative and effort in the kitchen. Cold reheated potatoes and no seasoning. The impossible burger was possibly not delicious. Also try salting food.

I really wanted to love-love this place. Cool art deco meets art nouveau atmosphere. Smilish novelties for sale. Good enough chai and menu offerings. But man, a simple “hi” attitude and a some background music would go a long way in this joint. After all, today is the greatest…. (P.S. awesome Chop Suey sign!!

Was very impressed with the hibiscus clementine iced tea. The banh mi was pretty good and definitely had some heat to it. Plan to return to try some other items. The staff was extremely nice. The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing. Definitely felt like a place where people could come during less busy hours and work on their computers, read, etc. while enjoying the food/drink. This restaurant is just okay. I'm not sure if it was just a bad day, but the employee working there did not smile once. It made me feel like the employee was unhappy and possibly treated badly. The atmosphere was not great either - dirty floors, dirty counter, and an unbearable smell inside. We had to leave because we couldn't even describe the smell, it was so heavy. We will definitely not be returning.

It was a quiet lunch hour when we came. Our lunch companions got their food, and our ticket got lost. Folks working offered us a free pastry, but we really just needed lunch. Food was very good, portions generous, tea was lovely, but was kind of flummoxed that they forgot about us given that it was so quiet, and they brought our lunch companions THEIR lunch. It’s all good, just you know, keep an eye on your tables.

"I went to Froggy's the other night with a friend for a midweek dinner. It is definitely not the first time I've been there, but it may be the last. First of all, The servers were really in the weeds and seemed to be really understaffed. I understand that it gets busy, and things get delayed. Nothing really got delayed, but we were looking for them a lot for water and stuff. Secondly, but most importantly, was the food. The oysters we had were good and fresh. However, their escargot variation was weird, especially with the peapods. They were out of anchovies for the ceaser salad, but after tasting it, I don't think they use anchovies in the dressing. The flavor of their dressing along with the raw shaved beet was not good. Our main courses were just not good. I ordered the Bouillabaisse and it was terrible. It was like a weird tomato-based sauce with over cooked proteins. The lobster has no meat in the tail, and their was no lobster meat added, as the server described in the special. Not only the weird sauce, no toast points or Rouille... They served it with mashed potatoes and vegetables that stuck out like a sore thumb. On top of that all, my mussels weren't de-bearded... I couldn't eat them. The desserts weren't any better. We had the passion fruit mousse and the poached pear. The mousse had a strange texture, like they didn't allow whatever gelatin mixture they used to set up correctly. The taste was ok, but got drowned out by the raspberry sauce. On the poached pear, where is the pear? All I tasted was poaching liquid and that's it. For the price and quality, there are tons of better French options around the area. I guess if I feel like normal french cuisine, that a true Frenchman would be proud of, I will across the tracks and down the street to the other French option. Honestly, I think they are way passed their prime and need to revamp everything before I come in again, especially their menu and quality.
