"We are visiting Boston and went here as a party of 6 to celebrate my colleagues birthday. We enjoyed the ambiance and the cocktails were exceptionally good. The food was amazing, very fresh, well cooked and great presentation. I particularly enjoyedthe Oysters, the stuffed zucchini flower and surf and turf appetizers; as well as the Salmon dish. I stole a truffle fry or twofrom my colleagues plate and loved it. The service was definitely fast and efficient, but I would have rated another star ifthe staff were more friendly. The booking experience by phone was not pleasant, this almost caused us to walk away. Our server,Giuseppe, was no different. But we noticed none of the servers ever smiled at patrons; and we were very taken aback by this. OurServer had the same bedside manner, as he didn’t greet us warmly or introduce himself. In fact, I had to request his name. Hewas not very helpful when we had questions and didn’t guide us correctly when we requested a cheese plate for 4, but ended upwith two cheese plates big enough to feed 10. Overall, I’ll say this location is a gem of a find and I will return becausethe food was great . I hope to have better service next time."

We had our Xmass party there and it was amazing! Tucked away on a side str Mare is one of the best steak houses on the Northend! Food was incredible! Drinks, service dessert and of course the wine!!! Best white I had! Pic attached! Make sure you get it!

Unfortunately, not impressed. The prices are expensive for taste and quality of the food. More specifically, I ordered the special of the day, .......the sole fish fillet. I wish the food was more flavorful with seasoning. On a positive note, the atmosphere is perfect for a date night out.

For a host of reasons, it has been awhile since we were in the North End and Mare will bring us back. Great choices of food and we all enjoyed our meals. Wonderful warm and efficient service. Very good wine selections and the perfect manhattan was perfect. There were 3 of us. 6 would work but after that it would be hard to hear everyone. View menu

Small little spot tucked away down a little alley. I definitely recommend making a reservation as it was packed on a weekday for dinner. I was lucky enough to be able to find a seat at the bar. Great selection of oysters and cold appetizers. I wanted toorder the special but unfortunately they were out so I went with the warm lobster roll. Had a great time and the bartender wasso sweet.

Ordered their cod loin without much expextaction but oh boy no regrets! The fish was well cooked, still retaining its freshness, juiciness and flakiness. It was very well seasoned and the side salad makes the whole dish complete. Sweet potato puree was super smooth that it melts in your mouth the moment it touches your tastebuds. Their lobster roll was a letdown unfortunately. It was bland and dry and portion was underwhelming considering the price.
