"We stopped in on impulse and have a new favorite. We were quickly greeted a seated at this Clay City Authentic Mexican restaurant. The menu had several options that sounded promising and I ordered Pollo La Finca. I was pleasantly surprised by the flavorful ensemble of chicken, tomatoes, green peppers, onions, and mushrooms heated to just the right heat to release different flavor notes. I’m totally that girl who will take all the meat and pick at the veggies, but I ate all the vegetables because it was that good. The chips were fresh, the salsa spicy, and the queso so hot it was thin on the chip. My companion had tamales and chili relleno, and cleaned his plate. We may be back the same week and will look for it during future stays to the area."

Absolutely amazing food and friendly staff! Although this small town doesn’t have a lot to offer, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. View menu

Gave the guy a couple dollar tip on a single to go order. After tasting it, I feel like I shoulda doubled that at least. Nice people—great food. Definitely going back.

Small, local, no frills joint. I had the birria tacos and they were delicious. The meat was tender, juicy well seasoned. The margarita was excellent, as well. The chips came out hot fresh and we really liked the salsa.

Great, fast service. The chips and salsa were very good. The tamale was amazing as were the carnitas tacos. The salsa that comes with them is very flavorful and the perfect level of spicy. The volcano nachos were also delicious and the steak and shrimp were cooked well. Very good prices too considering the large portions. View menu

There aren't many dining options in Stanton, especially if you're bringing dogs along. We chose to sit outside, and the service was prompt, although I sensed a bit of hesitation from the staff regarding my dogs. The food was enjoyable, with an extensive menu and great prices. I particularly loved the diabla shrimp, which had the perfect level of spiciness for my taste and came with a generous amount of shrimp.

I visited this restaurant during my bachelorette weekend, and we all arrived dressed to impress, eager for margaritas and Mexican food. Our group of eight fit well in the cozy dining area, and the staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly. The food was delicious—especially the chimichanga! The margaritas were fantastic as well. I wish I didn’t have to leave, as I would love to return! I might just have to plan another trip specifically to dine here!

"Our first visit to the restaurant last night came highly recommended, thanks to a friend's glowing review of their vegan menu. We were pretty excited and ordered two vegan meatball subs. The trouble began when we waited for nearly 25 minutes after placing our order. Our server, a guy named Ryan (I think), came over and told us they were all out of vegan meatballs. Naturally, we asked why it took so long for them to figure this out, which seemed to fluster poor Ryan a bit. However, he was polite throughout the conversation. We decided to switch our order to one regular meatball sub and a vegan eggplant sub, thinking all was well. But, surprise, surprise, Ryan returned a few minutes later to tell us they were also out of eggplant. At this point, we had been waiting for almost 40 minutes with no food in sight, so we asked for the check to pay for the soda my husband had been nursing. Here's why the whole experience left a sour taste in our mouths: 1. Why in the world didn't the waitstaff know about these shortages in advance? It seems like basic communication within the restaurant was seriously lacking. Customers shouldn't be left hanging, wondering if they'll actually get what they ordered. 2. It's kind of baffling that Ryan was left to break the bad news not just once, but twice. You'd think the manager, who we saw chatting with other diners just a few feet away, would have taken the initiative to come over and speak to us directly. 3. I was made to feel like I should be really grateful they decided not to charge us for the Diet Coke my husband drank. Overall it was a terrible experience and no effort was made to rectify what happened. I obviously cannot comment on the food since we never recieved any. As for customer service...HORRIBLE!"
