"I had dinner last night (Feb.18 2017) at M. MME and we were 3 x couples for dinner. I was the one that suggested this place to my friends and was really excited to try it. To my surprise we were ALL very disappointed with the food and service, which was a shame because the place is beautiful with a nice ambiance. The service was slow and no one ever asked us if everything was to our liking even with leaving several plates uneaten. I order the lamb and it was raw, my husband and another friend ordered the Angus steak it too was under cooked and cold by the time we got it. My other friend had the endive salad as a starter and got nausea from the white sauce that came with it and after waiting for a while for the main dish to come she had asked one of the servers to cancel her main dish for him to only come 20 minutes later to advise her that it was too late to cancel it and when her fish finally came her first bite was just fish skin so she was so turned off by the dish that she couldn't finish it. The appetizers are over priced for there portion size and quality. Also your main dish is not much bigger in size but double the price. We received bread and butter towards the end of our meal. When the server came to pick up our final dishes and saw that there were 4 uneaten dishes you figure he would ask "it wasn't it your liking", but we got nothing from him. The plates were just removed with no consideration for the patrons. We all paid and just left without having dessert, needless to say none of us will be back which is a shame because we did like the ambiance and the wine and we are also big fans of Lemeac and Pullman. Sorry to say but this is the most disappointing food and service experience we have ever had in Montreal."

Poor value. The portions are tiny. The whole experience is snobbish ... You can easily find A LOT better a few blocks away.

Over priced, at least if i was good. It was aweful, we couldnt wait to leave plates were very small, Wouldn't mind if I could say they were really good, but we were very disappointed. The description on menu didnt feel to match what came.

View menu

Six of us went to this restaurant and we all agreed that it was the worst culinary experience we have had in montreal AND the terrible food was expensive. We would not go back even if it was offered to us. 4 of us came out with an upset stomach. It has no place in this city of incredible restaurants.

View menu

When you try to set the bar high, you create expectations. That is one of the issues here. The server will describe you each and every element forming part of your plate and how the wine pairing will so enhance your experience. So that creates expectations. And when you see the visual presentation, you really think you are getting into a real culinary treat. But as you will find out, you are not competing at international level here. Forget the top innovative French or spanish places. Not even close to le Filet. Still way far from Toque that was innovative...10 years ago. I agree that the wine was great..but not as great as it was presented! And the pairing was at best approximate, in my hum...

"This evening I opted for Toqué’s seven-course tasting menu, and while the service was nothing short of exceptional, the experience unfortunately fell flat where it mattered most—the food. I wanted to love Toqué so badly, and I was excited to see if the restaurant lived up to its reputation. To be clear, It’s not that the ingredients were bad. They were fine—perfectly average, even. But we came expecting culinary fireworks, and instead, it was more of a damp sparkler moment. The dishes were neither memorable nor particularly flavorful, leaving little to linger on the palate or in our minds. For a tasting menu at this price point, we anticipated an experience that would excite and surprise, but instead found ourselves with courses that were forgettable and uninspired. Not a single course left me wow’d and despite the modest portion sizes, many of the plates left our table largely untouched. The flavors just didn’t inspire the kind of enthusiasm that draws you back for that next bite, and ultimately, it spoke volumes about the disconnect between expectation and execution. Montreal is overflowing with incredible food, and I’ve long believed it can hold its own against some of the best food cities around the world. With that in mind, I couldn’t help but feel a little deflated. There are so many gems in this city that bring creativity, heart, and an actual punch of flavor—Toqué just didn’t do Montreal any justice tonight."
