"I 've had mixed experiences here. Over a year ago, I asked about a vegan menu item containing, apparently, mock meat. I asked about it and was told the meat was real. Incredulous, I asked why it was identified as vegan on the menu and they responded that vegan meant only no dairy. I think that 's corrected now. But on a subsequent visit, I asked if a particular item was vegan. The waiter asked the apparent owner, who was nearly right in front of me, and answered very angrily NO ITS NOT VEGAN. A colleague recently reported to me he asked if their food was organic and was told no, because their customers aren 't interested in that. ??? All of which is highly disappointing because the cooking is in fact very well done, the spices great, the menu diverse and the ambiance excellent. But on balance, as a vegan, the drawbacks outweigh the benefits. They 're good cooks but it still just doesn 't feel vegan friendly. For those of us for whom eating is a politically and socially conscious experience as well as a culinary one, India House falls short."

"Hours- Saturday hours on Google are incorrect. The place shuts down from 2pm til 5 PM while the staff is getting ready for dinner crowd. This was extremely inconvenient as we had to spend money on extra parking and also try to find something else to do for few hours. Staff- The moment you walk in , you imidiately face the sushi bar and the big chef of the house, the man himself who greats you and then hits his gong with a mallet to let everyone know that you have arrived, VIP is here! I thought it was great. The male waiter welcomed us next and offered us few areas to sit down in, we wanted to stay next to the chef so we stayed downstairs at the sushi bar. (They do have main sitting area upstairs) Food- The place offers Omakase, so we went with that ONLY because the chef was very friendly. We had multiple variations of sushi and sashimi made by chef and his staff. All the foods were photographed for this review, except the eel temaki. Toro was so fat and so smooth, with a very mild fish flavor. The oysters with raw quail egg were probably my favorite, absolutely brilliant! So smooth, nothing funky, just smooth and delicious! Yellowtail was fresh tasting. Their rice in the sushi was great as well (I dont know what all these Daves and Maries complain about it) One negative thing about our experience- the woman kept on making sure we're OK with the price of Omakase after we had repeated multiple times we didnt care about the price tag we wanted the experience (so that kind of put me back in my seat for a quick minute but it's ok, or as my husband said they probably experienced some fools before and so they're trying to protect themselves against that kind of crowd) Overall, it is a great place for good quality sushi right here in DT NoHo. Prices are reasonable for normal menu items. Omakase cost us about $60 a person, and with some sake we looked at about $150 when we were done. Thank you."

"This place definitely needs to expand their restaurant. It gets too crowded and loud. Hard to figure out where to pick up a to go order from. Also when sitting you have people standing near you bc its too packed. Three stars for food bc my mozzarella and basil pizza was undercooked but everyone else's pizza was fine. "This place was great! Service was great, food was even better! And I’m coming from lower east side in nyc so trust me- I don’t know what everyone else is talking about. Maybe they were having a personal bad day and projected it onto their experience here but this place is great. And my partner has taken me to other Asian places here that I will not name but I will never go to there again. But Yokohama, is my NEW FAVORITE PLACE!I had the chicken ramen and I asked them to make it spicy, and the chicken buns. No pictures because I am trying to use my phone less unless it’s important—Like leaving this review."

"We are regular customers of this restaurant for a reason - the food is tasty and flavorful, the staff is friendly, and the wait times are short. We always feel like we are getting a good meal at a reasonable price. As a vegan, I have several options to choose from, while vegetarians will find plenty of other choices on the menu. I highly recommend the Korean curry and Bukkeum Udon, and my wife loves the Bibimbap and scallion pancakes (note: both contain eggs). We also enjoy ordering the veggie dumplings occasionally. Please be aware that there may be cross-contamination with fried tofu/dumplings due to the cooking oil. In terms of dietary restrictions, I have found options as a vegan and believe they can accommodate gluten-free and lactose-free requests. Parking is convenient with plenty of free spots available in the front or back of the restaurant. While the main entrance has 2-3 stairs, there may be an alternative entrance for wheelchair accessibility."
