"In a sea of mediocrity, a gem!. Obasan has seriously impressed me! Their helpings are extremely generous so much food in their bentos I can hardly believe it. Usually enough for 2 meals! <br/ <br/ Their food is excellent (especially for the price). I reccomend the sake bento or their california roll, for starters. They have a daytime happy ower worth going for.<br/ <br/ Owner/operator is extremely friendly. Love that they play Miyazaki films on a flatscreen TV inside their dining room. <br/ <br/ With two other sushi places less than a block away, Obasan stands out."

This is our favorite Japanese restaurant in Queen Anne. The owner is super nice and the food is always fresh and fantastic.

Though Obasan was very busy the night of our meal due to a concert, the two front end staff were very attentive and efficient. The food was quite good too

Amazing cuts great happy hour. Beautiful, luscious cuts of nigiri what a amazing deal at happy hour, especially. This place needs to get a website and social media presence once people know about it, they'll be packed!

The food was great. The location looked sketchy on the outside as of you were going into some hole in the wall place with a giant door. But the food was great. The dragon and spider roll were great and the yaki soba was delicious. View menu

Great Find. Lucky for us, they had decided to open, on a Sunday, for the James Taylor Carol King concert. Obasan's sashimi was fresh and flavorful, and my selection for it's California roll was excellent. A wonderful new place in lower Queen Anne

Awesome Happy Hour. I love everything about this place! The sushi is high quality, and large portions for the price. Their happy hour is the best I've found for a Japanese restaurant so far. And the service is outstanding as well. You have to try it!

I arrived for my reservation at the restaurant, which had been confirmed twice through email, only to be told that they do not use OpenTable and did not have a table available for us. I would not recommend making reservations for this restaurant through OpenTable. View menu

We had a fantastic time at this charming Japanese restaurant in Queen Anne. Our family stopped by after watching a show at the Children's Theater and everyone loved it. The sushi was top-notch and the service was excellent. The atmosphere may not be anything fancy, but it is cozy and well-maintained.

We made a reservation at Obasan through Opentable before they removed that option. We had a concert at Key Arena a few hours later, so we thought it would be a convenient place to start from. Although we were seated quickly, we were then neglected for 15 minutes as the waitress, who seemed to be the only one working, struggled to manage tables and new guests. Eventually, we decided to leave and ended up walking in at Atlas Kitchen instead.
