"I absolutely adore this restaurant. It is hands down my favorite place to be. While I am not a huge fan of the food and find that there are only a couple of dishes I enjoy, the service can be quite slow at night or on weekends. However, I am in love with the atmosphere of the restaurant. I will happily spend an hour sipping on my coffee just to relax. I particularly enjoy the outdoor seating when the weather is nice, and I appreciate the friendly and familiar daytime staff. They always remember me and my kids, our orders, and are consistently welcoming. I also appreciate the unique and delicious food and coffee options that are not easily found elsewhere. Despite being in NYC, I doubt I could find strapatsada or the perfect Cafe or Iced Viennesse anywhere else. This place is perfect for any occasion, whether it be a celebration, date night, or just hanging out. Even after renovations, it remains a beloved neighborhood establishment full of cherished memories. It's always a good time at this restaurant. The coke is also quite tasty, although not suitable for those with gluten intolerance. I personally enjoy it, even if it means a bit of suffering afterward."

The tres leches cake at this restaurant is phenomenal! I prefer it over the tres leches from Omonia Astoria.

The portions are big (I ordered California salad), but I can’t say that the food is very delicious. Won’t come back.

I had lunch here and also ordered dessert - so many options to choose from! I have visited a few times to get their pastries, which are all delicious. The service is always excellent.

For a entree we shared the ultimate burger it was delicious very juicy. For dessert I had the cheesecake bakalava with a iced frappe w/ baileys it was so effing good. The pastries are so amazing! However, Bad service is just not worth dessert. View menu

One can discern the care which goes into the food’s preparation, as the ingredients and presentation are top-notch. Desserts mouth-wateringly displayed in a vitrine by the entrance. Al fresco seating in season, mercifully not enclosed in ‘Rona-proofing as if Omonia were trapped in 2020. Waiters polite and knowledgeable.

Just dropped in for a quick sit down and a bite and drink before heading for the Dyker Christmas lights. Sat down outside because didn’t want too much fuss. Their outdoor setup at time of review is not heated, but it was one of few places in the area to even have an outdoor setup. Waiters were very attentive kind and patient. Only had a hot chocolate and a cheese cake this time but will definitely be back for more!

"When we called to reserve a table, no one informed us that there was a dining time limit of 1.5 hours. My friend wanted to invite more people to join us for dinner, but I was unsure if everyone would agree to the minimum charge of $60, including taxes and tips. I confirmed a reservation for 7 people during my second call, but ultimately, only 6 of us showed up. The table we were given was quite small, making it uncomfortable for six people, especially with the mandatory minimum spending of $60, as well as a 20% tip. For just two people, the minimum tip is 18%. I was confused about the dining time limit—was it two hours or 1.5? The party area was limited to just the backyard for additional seating. I was with friends who didn’t know the group well, and we arrived early at 3 PM, but we couldn’t wait until 6:30 PM. That’s why we ended up sitting at a separate table for two. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn’t seem to care and couldn’t arrange for us to be seated closer together. We had no choice in the matter. To make matters worse, the female waiter had a poor attitude. It felt like we were dining in a sidewalk market. She questioned another girl who served me ponzu sauce, apparently because I looked impatient when I saw her face. Her attitude only worsened after that. It seems like they need to train their employees better, as they seem unaware of how to provide good service. As for the food, it was just okay, typical of basic Japanese cuisine. There were too many restrictions! Customers are forced to adhere to the restaurant’s rules and limitations. I cannot recommend this place unless someone is specifically looking for a fast-food experience. In short, I don’t think I’ll be returning next time."
