"Now, let’s talk about the main attraction: the pizzas! Papa Ray's really excels at creating the perfect pie. I chose their signature "Ray's Special," which features a delicious combination of pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers, and a generous amount of gooey cheese. The crust was thin and crispy, exactly how I like it, and the toppings were plentiful, ensuring that every bite was packed with flavor. What really enhanced my dining experience was the outstanding service provided by our waitress, Emma. She was attentive, friendly, and her enthusiasm was contagious, making us feel as though we were dining with an old friend. Emma had an impressive understanding of the menu and was eager to assist us in choosing our meals, ensuring we had the best experience possible. As the evening progressed, it became clear that Papa Ray's is more than just a restaurant with great food; it fosters a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff felt like a close-knit family, and their passion for serving tasty dishes was evident in every facet of our visit. Whether you’re a local or just visiting Chicago, you must add Papa Ray's Pizza and Wings to your list of places to try. With their delicious pizzas, refreshing garden salads, and exemplary service from people like Emma, it’s an experience that will leave you wanting more. Don't overlook this hidden gem in the heart of Chicago!"

Got take out from here after work. Pizza and Mac were piping hot and made the way I ordered. Great place to get something to eat.

They really upgraded the interior to this spot and the friendly neighborhood vibe is still very much in tact along with a great tasting generous slice of pizza. Great to see Papa Ray’s doing well. Cheers guys, thanks for being a neighborhood staple.Food: 5/5

I'm always terrible at taking pics. When your working double a man has to eat! The food was delicious and everyone was courteous. I was called prior to the delivery and after to make sure we enjoyed our food. We will definitely be ordering from Papa Rays again! View menu

Pizza is thicker, softer chewier than the typical thin tavern pies, its a nice changeup. Slices are cut into big triangles, they are generous with cheese and sauce. This place also makes good wings if you are feeling like it, they taste like how a buffalo wing should.

I just dropped by for a slice of pizza and some fries after almost a year of not visiting due to the previous owner. Since the new owners took charge, everything has improved significantly, and the food is fantastic. I'm excited to start ordering from here again. Thank you to the new owners! Food: 5/5 View menu

The wings are fantastic! You absolutely need to give them a try! If you're in the mood for pizza, the monster slice combo, which comes with fries and a drink, is a must-try. The renovations have really improved the appearance of the place; it looks much better than before. I also had a salad, and it was quite filling. There are still plenty of other menu items I’m eager to try. Overall, I would rate the food 5 out of 5.

I ordered the calzone and wings. The calzone was fine, not horrible but not amazing. It was just missing something. The marinara sauce was watery and didn't have much flavor. I got barbecue and garlic parm wings. Overpriced for subpar flavors. Barbecue was fine, a little more on the sweet side. The garlic parm was also fine, was also missing something. Overall it just felt like it felt short on everything. It was all just okay, but when you're hungry and craving a good food that you're looking forward to, it was disappointing.

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
