"Horrible!!! The young black lady, with glasses and braids took my order. I came in after holding the door for a nice young lady, who happens to be white. I ordered a glazed donut, a chocolate cover chocolate donut and a cinnamon roll donut. But before all that, I spoke to the young lady and had no return greeting. I saw an apple fritter and I asked her was it in fact an apple fritter. Which she looked at me with a weird look and answered, snarkily, yes that 's an apple fritter. So at that point it was way off. So I said okay thanks just give me what I ordered. Then she rang up my order which came to $6.60 maybe? I gave her $7 and began to exit. She didn 't say thank you, or anything. Before I could get a foot away, she says to the young white couple (lady I held the door for) and says, Hello, I feel your energy is much better . So of course, I 'm like, excuse me, what this about better energy ? At that point she began to say something irrelevant because her job is to serve and her job is to be pleasant, and her job if to bring good energy and a positive posture for your business. She did not. To treat an elder, I 'm 64 or anyone like this, especially a person of color like she treated me, she needs to be fired. If my wife wasn 't in the car, I would 've demanded my money back, made a scene and been gone outside of where I ever want to go."

Terrible, overpriced donuts in a dingy environment.

Quite possibly the best donuts that I have every had. There were a number of reviews making this claim, but I went there with skepticism in my heart. The kids and I got a wide selection to try, and were blown away. The traditional glazed is the keystone of donuts, and Pharaohs knocked it out of the park.

If I could rate this place 10 stars, I would. Service was friendly and helpful. Donuts were easily some of the best I’ve had in 50+ years and the best in a long time. My wife’s friend used to live in STL and she said the one place we had to make time for was Pharoah’s Donuts and she was right. No photos because I was too busy enjoying the donuts. View menu

The donuts were amazing! The best my girlfriend and I have ever had. We were in the area for the eclipse and stopped by St. Louis for a day. We have been talking about making the 4-5 hour drive back again to St. Louis just for this donut shop. The donuts were perfectly fluffy and sweet. The workers were warm and welcoming. They even helped us find things to do in the city!

The donuts taste great, but it seemed like neither of the girls at the counter wanted to be there or it was an inconvenience for me being in their shop. It’s a shame because the neighborhood looks really run down. Meaning there aren’t many options which is ironic with the arch so close. This shop is really the only good place downtown for a quick breakfast, it’s a shame the employees don’t perform with more integrity knowing their shop is the only one in the area..
