Pluto's - Menu

Most reasonably priced place in Palo Alto. I made a meal just out of sides my favorites were mashed potatoes 2.75) and brussels sprouts 2.75) and a piece of bread .75). I also got the mixed veggies 2.75) and mushrooms 2.75), but thought they were just okay. The custom salads are also enormous and delicious.

The restaurant is decent and the salads and turkey dinners look appetizing. I decided to try The Big Bang Lunar dip steak sandwich, which is grilled fresh over an open flame. The issue I encountered was that the sauce was too sweet and the meat had too much fat on it. It would be preferable if they trimmed off the excess fat before serving.

Whyyyyyy close all the Pluto's, especially this location??? This is very sad. Decent, comfort food that didn't cost an arm and a leg like most everything else around here. And nice employees that I am really sad are without a place to work now! I've been coming here for 14 years and can't believe it's gone. It was one of the last mainstays on University. I love Pluto's! This is my favorite post soul cycle spot! Truthfully I'd make the drive over here to grab a salad regardless, but it's worth it! I usually stop by here after a workout customize my own salad. The half portion is basically a full plate you get to choose a handful of toppings to go along with your salad. Everything is always pretty fresh when I come here which is definitely a must when it comes to greens! I've also tried their entrees which are really good as well! The veggies are seasoned/cooked so well pair really well with the meat they offer. I came here with my bf on a Tuesday evening. We found parking right around the corner and there was no line for the location. A little confused, but we soon figured it out. They have a couple different stations where you order your food then you go to the cashier and pay. We got one Thai Salad with Shrimp. It was a little under $14 and came with about 5 shrimps. They took out the curly fries : I was very tempted to change my rating to 3 stars because I loved garlic curly fries that much, but that doesn't mean the sandwich was not good anymore. I got the same sandwich with focaccia bread this time. It was good as well, a little thicker and chewier, but I think I would stick to the sourdough. I had realized they didn't have curly fries after I had actually ordered them. When I went to go get my food, I see regular fries and asked them that it's the wrong dish, and then I was told that they didn't carry out anymore. Summary: Fresh food made quick, with good quality. Prices are reasonable and portions are large. Sometimes the lunch rush results in a queue, so plan accordingly. I 've been to Pluto 's three times now. Each time I did a build your own (large) salad , and each time tried a different combination of ingredients. You basically choose your lettuce type (kale is extra), and seven toppings (there are premium options available). A large salad with kale and seven non-premium toppings (like edamame, kidney beans, broccoli, etc) costs around $13 and is enough for two full meals. But yeah, amidst the hustle and slowly flowing moments in the day, I came to reflect upon the idea that it 's more noteworthy when a person challenges him or herself to do something that he or she isn 't the best at than someone flaunting only what he or she is certain will result in success. While visiting Palo Alto, I decided to check out Pluto based on its appearance. After dining there, I left feeling slightly disappointed, as I believe it deserves a solid 3.5 stars but not quite a 4.
