Pulehu - Menu

I was pleasantly surprised with this Italian resort restaurant on Maui. The food is good and the service is excellent. The view is nice and it's convenient if you're staying at one of the Kaanapali resorts.

Pretty consistent great food since they opened. The fettuccine is sooo good, I just wish they would bring back the Jidori chicken. I have not had a bad meal or bad service. Great space, great ambience. If you are staying here or nearby you can't go wrong. This is a restaurant you would expect at Westin.

Nice restaurant at the Westin Kaanapali Villa Resort. I ordered the risotto crusted pesce with monchong and my husband ordered the vegetable pizza. Both were delicious ! The service was wonderful and the ambience romantic. Based on what we ordered I feel the restaurant deserves more than a 31/2 star rating. Some of their menu items are a bit pricey but you are on Maui so everything is pricey! View menu

I would suggest not wasting your money at this restaurant. It might be the only Italian restaurant that cannot make a proper cappuccino. The cappuccino we received tasted more like hot chocolate. When we asked if they had mixed up our order, the server explained that they only have pre-packaged cappuccino and remaking it would not make a difference. The olive oil cake was the better choice of the two desserts. The budino was served in a large wine glass, which made it difficult to eat. Both desserts would be suitable for a pool bar, but not for a high-end Italian restaurant. I agree with the majority of other reviews and recommend dining elsewhere.

The Pulehu Italian Restaurant was absolutely amazing. Despite being located in the middle of the Westin Resorts, the atmosphere was peaceful. John's childhood friends, Thomas and Tina Cooper, made dinner reservations to celebrate John's birthday. Everything about Pulehu's exudes elegance. The waitstaff and hostess were exceptional in the hospitality industry. Now, let's talk about the food. The menu features Chef Prepared dishes that are not overly expensive. I don't get the 3.5 stars. This place is solid. We had a group of 10. We were escorted to an area where was more private for our group. The place is classy and very clean. Our service was immaculate and really attentive. Our drinks were always full, and the servers checked on us often for everything that we needed. All of the food worked, but the ones that really stood out was the ossobucco, risotto crusted monchong, and porcini crusted lamb chops. The ossobucco was so tender! We didn 't have high expectations for this restaurant, being that most hotel restaurants leave something to be desired. That being being said, we decided to give it a try since we are staying here and it was convenient. We were BLOWN AWAY! Our server was Amy and she was phenomenal. Price: prefix menu for $41 per person is pretty good deal. Otherwise, it can be expensive. Salads are between $13-15, 8 inch pizza for $18. Main dish between $30-50. 3+ star. Ambiance: very chic and romantic, by the koi pond. 4 star. Location: inside of the Westin Ocean Villas, South building. It is a bit hard to find... you can vallet park or self park. My gang took me and my spouse out for our birthday dinners here. The Hawaiian word pulehu means to cook or grill over fire, so I 'm sure many including myself, expected this to be a steakhouse but it 's actually Italian cuisine. ATMOSPHERE: The open air eatery is located in the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas North. There are no views sans for the hotel grounds and buildings as its situated near the front of the property in a courtyard like setting.
