"I found this restaurant on open table and went because it was one of the few vegetarian places on the list. I was surprised how small the room was (approx. 12 chairs) and that there was only 1 other person there at 7 o'clock. but the hostess was super friendly and accommodating. the food was presented artistically and the aromen were delightful. it is also byob. in a block of restaurants are wine shops. I'd go back to manhattan next time."

The place has amazing vegan options. Really liked the food. The menu online is more elaborate than whats available in the restaurant. Overall, a nice East Village spot!!

a nice restaurant to go when their health conscious, but the meals tend to be quite expensive for the amount they receive. also, nice atmosphere service and delicious food.

My first vegan raw food restaurant experience, being actually a meat eater... I am so positively surprised how much I liked it- great tacos, very good seaweed salad and the matcha cheesecake and pumpkin pie were outstanding! View menu

we had a great pre public theatre show. there is a series of beautiful vegan restaurants on the lower east side quintessence is among them. it's been a long time and it's still delivering. it would be great if they had an alcohol license!

My girlfriend eats cooked food and I just started eating raw, so I wanted a place that worked for both. We started with coconuts waters (from a real coconut), followed by the fofu wrap, nachos, burger and pizza. ALL OF IT WAS RAW AND AMAZING!!!!! My girlfriend loved every dish. We finished off with a banana coconut pie (so dank). Will be back here every week. Thanks Quintessence

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
