"I hate to give this 4/2022 negative review but it's necessary please read it. This is a restaurant in serious trouble, if you read other reviews you can see the themes. First, they are horribly understaffed, and everyone was waiting at least an hour forfood. They have one chef and one service employee working a peak Saturday night shift and they simply cannot keep up with theavalanche of both diners and take out orders. The server was working so hard, I felt bad for her. But one server cannot takeorders, take takeout orders, pack takeout, serve diners, do checks, seat patrons, heat tea, etc. for 15 patrons. Not possible. The restaurant was filled with patrons circling like hungry vultures, waiting an hour plus for 6 pieces of sushi. Everyone EVERYONE was angry, anxious and waiting. Some people had to wait 30 minutes for their check. Second, their menu is out ofdate. It has a sticky note that says things may be 1 2 dollars more. One of our special rolls was advertised at $15, but billedat $19. So it's a guessing game what anything costs because the menu is irrelevant. This is utterly unacceptable. Third, thesushi is simply bad, no way around it. Likely because they are so overwhelmed it sits out on the shelf waiting to be picked uponce prepared and has a chance to get too warm. The sushi was inferior to supermarket sushi, and both my wife and I woke up thenext day with very upset stomachs. We should have gotten Shoprite sushi. The ingredients were poor. The fish was obviously old,the rolls were constructed carelessly, and it made us slightly sick. All in all, the picture we got was of a failing restaurantthat is in serious trouble, and headed for disaster fast. They can't keep up with takeout orders, they can't keep up withdiners, and the quality of their sushi is horrendous. They were working hard, but they need more help and better ingredients. Bygetting more help, they could focus on their food. I wish them the best of luck and hope they succee"

Small family owned restaurants with pleasant decor never disappoints with food and their hospitality. We always have a good time, especially my daughter who always plays with the owner daughter.

My favorite restaurant in the Long Valley area! I've dined in and ordered takeout numerous times, and now she even remembers my order whenever I call in for lunch. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20.

The $16 Ramen here is just the $2 instant noodle you can get from anywhere. Asked the manager if I can change it with something else, they took my noodle away and told me this is how they do it. I paid everything and just left. Don't recommend at all. View menu

Close to home and open late, I?ve come here for late dinners a few times. It?s tucked away in the villages by Chesapeake Tavern and the Brew Pub. It?s got a relaxing atmosphere and isn?t too huge. The service is good and the food is decent. I enjoy thegreen tea and gyoza here. Rolls are a bit hit or miss in my experience. Nothing was bad, just nothing to write home about. Ymmv

The outdoor ambiance was rather unappealing, so we opted to dine inside. The wine prices were a bit steep at $9 a glass, which seems high for this type of establishment. We ordered the Hamachi Crush as an appetizer, a dish we used to enjoy, but it had a slightly fishy taste this time. Concerned, we decided to go for hot dishes instead of sushi, and I’m glad we did because the sushi chef started coughing repeatedly without covering his mouth or stepping away from the food—definitely a turnoff. Our hot meals, which included chicken red curry and basil chicken, were good. However, the sight of the sushi chef ignoring basic hygiene really put me off. I won’t be returning to this place.

"It’s a shame to post that the Chesapeake Inn is one of the best seafood places in the area. We dined there four times in last year and recently for the ALL YOU CAN EAT SHRIMP yet not until we left and saw the kitchen help eating the same special at the bar did we realize how sub par our serving was presented to us in comparison. Very shady. My suggestion is to eat in the dining rooms. The downside is the bar area is where the HAPPY HOUR specials are ordered and served which in turn results in smaller portions. And furthermore, when we asked the server for another serving of all you can eat shrimp to which he replied “ Is this your second or third helping of shrimp!” What does he care? Remember, it’s ALL YOU CAN EAT! It’s bar shrimp, medium at best and $26.99! There are no seconds on the SIDES. A pittance portion of vegetables and child’s portion of rice and the price for their frozen seafood is overwhelming for the underwhelming portions!! Never again! And those happy hour crab cakes need mayonnaise, more herbs and a LIFT in respect to their size and taste! It’s sad when restaurants add these useless garnishes/dry julienne cuts of unknown fresh veggies on my plate. Look at the pitiful stuffed shrimp! Nothing creative, all cheap plate props. That kale salad was plopped on the plate, $14! Do better, Chesapeake Tavern. Parking: The large parking lot serves three restaurants on that corner site"
