"I was disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. I arrived about 10 minutes early for my reservation and was seated after a short wait. The server took a while to take our drink orders, but the drinks were very good. We then waited a long time before finally ordering our meals - a salad and appetizer for my partner and dinner for myself. After waiting for approximately 40 minutes, I asked the server about our meals as the table next to us received theirs without the salad. I also asked for bread, but after waiting a while longer and being informed by the kitchen that our orders were behind, with no sign of them coming soon, we decided to just pay for our drinks and leave. There are many other dining options in Ogunquit, so we will not be returning to this restaurant."

We had a nearby concert to attend tonight, so we decided to extend our stay in Ogunquit for an extra night. We made a reservation for an early dinner...

I highly recommend trying the coastal Benedict at this restaurant. The hollandaise sauce was tangy and fresh, the crab cake was flavorful and moist, and the coffee was delightful.

The enchanting café has a warm and inviting interior and was moderately busy during the off-peak season. The menu offers a range of delicious brunch choices, including eggs benedict and omelettes. View menu

The service was subpar and the food was bland. There are plenty of fantastic dining choices in Ogunquit, but this restaurant is not one of them. It was the worst dining experience we've had in our 15 years of visiting Ogunquit.

The food was amazing. My salmon was cooked perfectly with a delicious glaze, and the sides of rice and squash were perfectly balanced. The burrata was the best I've ever had! The atmosphere was cozy and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be returning.

This was the BEST meal we every have had in our lives!! Starting with the salad through the desert. My husband is Gluten free and they had many gluten free entries available! The service was excellent and the music was also great! Then to finish off our experience there were scrubbing salts in the restrooms room to wash your hands with, that made my hands so soft!!!! We went on a Sunday night in September and it was very quiet. There was only one waiter who did an admirable job. My husband and I both had the pulled pork with rice and beans which was delicious though it had large segments of fat in it. Portions were very large and we should have split it. My appetizer of Lobster and gnocchi was sublime and next time I would get that as an entree. Very enjoyable but would have been more fun if more people which in season I’m sure there was.

We went to have dinner for 7 and went to the bar for a drink first as we were early. Bartender, Aldo, was super pleasant and room was beautiful so we decided to just stay and eat at the bar. Started with the calamari which was excellent, fresh and crunchy with a great Asian sauce and little chunks of pineapple. Delicious! Our dinners were both very tasty as well. We shared a dessert which was a triple chocolate cheesecake which was delicious and wonderfully presented/plated. Great experience as it was last time and we will definitely go back again. Thank you Aldo and The Roost for a exceptional dining experience!

"Our visit to Ocean was sadly a disappointment. Positives: View was beautiful and the service was attentive. Food was plated beautifully. Our waitress noticed that our food took forever to arrive and offered to buy us a drink (we declined as we had to drive, but did notice that she didn't even end up comping the one drink we did order at the beginning of the evening). Negatives: Food was obscenely overpriced and unbelievably bland. I got the asparagus and lobster salad for my first course and it had absolutely zero flavor and maybe 1 ounce total of lobster. Entree selections were limited and bizarre for Maine in the summer. Very little local fresh seafood but instead lamb? I actually got the lamb but the meat, carrots and polenta were all cold upon arrival to my table. I would've sent it back but by that point it was 10:00 (we were seated at 8:00) and I just wanted to get out of there. Beyond that, the lamb was utterly tasteless. My husband's cod was also undercooked and not at all seasoned. Everything we had not only lacked flavor but lacked any sort of texture or contrast. I would've been upset at the food even if the meal had been reasonably priced. However, at well over $100 a person, one should be able to expect food that is far more than mediocre. I would recommend this place only for drinks on the deck. Or I would recommend if you are both flush with cash and terrified of anything that has flavor."
