"I tried to go to the southwest yesterday after having received a $100 gift card for my birthday. it had been there for years, but it is now permanently closed. So we went to this Sahara location for happy hour. Apparently the las vegas restaurant gift card has a few different options. we had a few drinks and a few appetizers of the happy hour. we had also escaped from the normal menu. abigail brings the leak and it is total $128, I give the 100 in gift card and my discovery card for the rest. She goes away, then comes back and tells me that the check now is $166 because I can not use the gift card during happy hour. never says that on sammys menu or on the website of the gift card. also on sammys web site has never seen it. abigail says there's a sign on the bar that it says. the bar, on the other side, from where we sat with our children, so impossible to see. very stupid. I'm telling her irresistible that I'm fine to charge $38 more. how will they change the price and add to the sheck after it was presented? also only a few of the items were on our check of happy hour. I can now see why they're going out of business. I have been working as a server/bartender for decades and have never experienced anything like this at any place I've been working on. this is the first negative restaurant review I ever write. sammy’s woodfire pizza probably shouldn’t take part in this las vegas gift card as you are customer. Thanks for leaving me an acidic note on my birthday! (the short rib entree sucked anyway abigail her service was good, I am sure there are better job opportunities for her than a dying company."

Jimmy, the weekend day bartender is fantastic at his job! Attentive, funny, and makes you feel at home. Also great at recommending food options! Thank you Jimmy!

my 1st drink was blande, which tasted as real carbonated water, not as soda, except the 2nd and when I grabbed the first slice of my pizza, many strokes fell annoying to not stick and stabilize. even if the waitress I had was nice and worried, and this pizza was delicious, it was not too bad despite the hard and mistake.

Food okay, waiter was awesome, but management stunk. Would only take a gift card for full price items, not happy hour items. Our bill was $275 with some of it full price menu items and manager would not separate the bill and declined the gift card. I will be writing the corporate office. 2/5/2022 evening manager who was an asian women of no help and no customer service at all View menu

I command the salmon on this journey that I would eat healthy; the rest of the meal was quite good and the others in my party really liked their meals (they had no laughs). my salmon was dry and I'm not the type to rotate them my meal, if all others have their meal and eat. then I have to watch them wait for my fresh food until I get it, they're ready and have to watch me eat. No, thanks. I'm just making a note of the place and not going back or getting something else if I have to go back there.

I am so glad that this wonderful restaurant has found its way to vegas. I originally found it in California, so that when this came to vegas, my lv travel makes all the more pleasant. happy hour begins at 3pm and that made my favourite dish (mini enten tacos) even better. seriously, but the pizza is great, but the mini duck tacos are one of the best things I had in my life! I hope they always keep it on the menu. the flatbread crackers with butter are also on my list of favourites. I swear if a sammy was in houston, I would eat there every week!

"Entry: We entered Oscar's via the front entrance of The Plaza at the West end of Fremont Street. Off to the left near the entrance is the escalator that leads you to their second floor. When we entered we were immediately greeted and seated by a friendly hostess. We requested a table with a view and she definitely obliged. Atmosphere:The ambience at Oscar's is about as good as you can get in downtown Las Vegas. Centered in a large and beautifully tinted glass dome you get panoramic views of downtown LV and even the sky. Service:The service was a spectacular star experience with our waiter. Our water and drinks were never empty. He was attentive, professional and friendly. Food Drink:The food was very good but not quite up to star. The Chilean Sea Bass was the full fish with skin which is quite different than how most steakhouses prepare just a single filet. It was supposed to be deboned however we found bones while eating. The skin on the filet should be crispy throughout but was only so around the edges. Definitely overpriced for the quality of this meal. The salmon was decent but not amazing. Overcooked just a smidge and not seasoned very well. So pretty much tasted like any other salmon you might expect from a or star restaurant. The filet mignon was decent but probably not even in my top The cut was more fatty than what you would expect from a high end steakhouse and not marbleized. I ordered it medium, and as many steakhouse chefs struggle with cooking a filet properly it was cooked to order on the edges and pretty much completely rare on the inside. The grilled asparagus was likely the high point of the dinner. Was cooked to perfection and tender in the middle, crispy on the edges. The creamed spinach wasn't great. The spinach was undercooked and affected the smooth consistency that you should expect from a good cream spinach.Overall:Definitely worth trying for the experience but don't set your bar too high"
