"We are in Morgantown once or twice a year and have always dined at Sargasso which is now closed. I was glad to discover 48 Donley has many of our favorite items from Sargasso on the menu. Wine list is not as extensive but offered sufficient choices. Ambience is what I refer to as the industrial look . Service was excellent as were our appetizers, entrees and desert. Located on the walking path along the river, so you can enjoy a walk along the river after the meal."

Our food was delicious and the service was great. Loved the atmosphere. Had a cocktail on the rooftop prior to our reservation. Will be back for sure. View menu

Luna was a great waitress. Brunch was good. Lucas went out of his way to help us with an issue with my son’s car. Friendly staff. Will definitely be back!

Our waiter was outstanding- very attentive and knowledgeable. Great cocktail menu Our dinner selections were done perfectly. We will be back. I appreciated the “modern” feel but it needs a bit of a warmer ambiance.

Wonderful dining experience…food was exceptional…both main courses (filet and seafood stew over rice) cooked to perfection. Our waiter was on top of bar and food orders! It’s great to have another fine dining restaurant in Morgantown! Will definitely return!! View menu

Overall good. Best was filet and ravioli, espresso old fashioned, bread (really good, complementary when asked for). Heard sea bass good as well. More modern vibe than was Sargassos, ambience work in progress, a little more casual. Nice wine and drink selection, separate bar would be a good drink stop (rooftop bar closed due to weather). Would go again.

Not a bad experience but definitely kinks to work out. Bar service was super slow as there was one bartender for the whole place with one trainee. Food service was suuuuuper slow. You can tell they’re trying to cook fresh from scratch but timing doesn’t work out. Mashed potatoes were cold, but fish was hot. With some time and attention this could be a good place.

"You’re stuck in Morgantown, Pennsylvania, a small town that’s mostly known for its universities and hospitals. Let’s be honest: it’s not exactly a culinary hotspot. As your stomach grumbles, you brace yourself for yet another meal that’s just meets the edible variety. But then, while aimlessly scrolling through Google, you stumble upon a place called Volcano Japanese Restaurant. Your initial thought? It’s probably as exciting as a sushi spot in West Virginia could be? Right? WRONG. Upon arrival, you step inside, and suddenly, it’s like you’ve been teleported to Legitsville, West Virginia. Population: you. The menu is a treasure map of sushi delights, authentic Japanese dishes, and intriguing drinks. Feeling adventurous, you order the Spider-Man 3 roll, fully expecting some cheesy, gimmicky sushi experience. Instead, what arrives is a giant masterpiece of crab meat, tempura shrimp, and other flavors so divine that you consider composing a haiku on the spot. Eager for more, you decide to leave some room for a second course and opt for the chicken teriyaki with rice. The portion is just right, and the flavors? Think blended, voluptuous, and savory. As you glance over at the next table, you spot diners receiving their order on what looks like a miniature carved bridge covered in sushi rolls. That’s when you realize you’ve discovered a true culinary gem, a hole-in-the-wall that’s actually a 5 out of 5 sushi palace. A spot you will be coming back to and raving to the homies about. The service? Top-notch. The waitress was so attentive, it was as if she could read your mind. The prices are shockingly reasonable for such high-quality food and an atmosphere that feels like a mini-vacation to Japan. So, if you’re currently lost in the void of Google searches, desperately seeking your next meal, stop everything. Make your way to Volcano Japanese Restaurant, and prepare for a dining experience that’s nothing short of explosive."
