Our favorite special occasion restaurant. Unbelievably well crafted food in the Heart of downtown Salem. Excellent service, very interesting and well balanced wine

So delicious! I had a fantastic time, the food was delicious! My favorite was the chilled corn soup with pesto and incredible pickled corn. Amazing! And a dessert of passion fruit sorbet, strawberries, basil and sparkling wine. The photos do not adequately show how beautiful and tasty everything was.

Settler is easily the best restaurant in Salem, if not Boston. I hate writing this review because I don?t want my weekly reservations to become harder to get, but the team at Settler deserves each of these stars, and some. Honestly, this is THE best restaurant in the greater Salem area. FULL STOP.The service is so good on all levels. Professional, informed, responsive and ridiculously friendly.Food: Farm to Table at its very best (all courses).Atmosphere: small but really inviting.If you DON’t like great farm to table food, great wine and spectacular service, you should stay away. Otherwise, book your reservation ASAP.

Always perfect. This is the service you want when you’re spending money like this! You truly feel like you’re dining in someone’s home and being hosted. I’ve also never had servers be so kind and attentive to my child that I had to bring at the last minute. The food is so so amazing and worth it, (so are the cocktails! , but it’s the “whole package” thing for me that makes me come back!!Dietary restrictions: So accommodating, my GF friend was impressed by their pasta!

I went here while on vacation and the experience was beyond amazing. The manager Chuck reached out to me personally when I asked on an online forum for upscale restaurant recommendations and I was treated so warmly from that moment on. My servers (one employee was training another at the time) were both incredibly helpful and so knowledgeable about the food, offering recommendations and insights beyond the usual Yeah the chicken 's good here you get at most places. Settler is the best restaurant on the North Shore. We had an incredible experience. It was absolutely gorgeous inside, and the lighting was perfect. I knew the service was going to be top notch when our server brought us tiny jars of lavender lemonade to cleanse our palates when we first sat down! The wine list was top notch, and our sever knew everything about the wines and where they came from. They weren’t just typical wines we could tell they had been picked by an expert. After reading/hearing all of the hype for this place, I was severely disappointed with the food from here. To preface, I love good food, I love cooking. I’ve visited a lot of fine-dining restaurants in my lifetime and though they’re expensive, I find the food is usually so good it’s worth it. The food I had from here was no where near worth the price, and this was the most disappointed I’ve ever been with food from a nicer restaurant.Fair warning: the portions are relatively small, and for the portion size the price is *very* steep. I had found Settler on Yelp and I really wanted to eat here during our one day in Salem. After walking all day, Settler was out last stop on our day in the Witch City. I never anticipated to have my best culinary experience in Salem, but here I am telling the tale. Settler has a 3 course meal style of serving. We received the chef picked appetizers. I don?t have the exact names, but it was a ricotta style dip, a pumpkin hummus, and another dish that was like a falafel. It was all phenomenal.
