"This was our first time at Shanghai restaurant. We tried to go one other time but it was still closed because of Covid. The restaurant was a lot smaller than I expected. We came for dim sum and although the food was very good, you do just order the items off of a menu. They do not push the carts around so you do not get a true dim sum experience. I would not say the waitresses were super friendly but that does lend to a true dim sum experience. We had to ask for water several times and they didn’t refill.I was very impressed with all of the food though. The portion sizes were very big and everything tasted very good. The shrimp dishes all had large pieces of shrimp. Fried dishes eere fried well not too greasy and steamed dishes were nice and hot. We got the little piggy buns just for grins. We had 7 adults and we ordered A LOT of food (packed up 3 Togo boxes) and the price was very reasonable. We will definitely come here again."

They know we don't speak Cantonese and thus gave us leftover food which tastes not fresh at all. Very bad experience.

the amount here is good. the seating area is small, so they arrive early to get a space to avoid waiting. this is our way to dim sum place in houston.

cheap dimming sum in small casual atmosphere. If you want to avoid the mass at some of the others overcrowded, you can get their dimming sum in a low key friendly place. View menu

Really great dim sum here! Even better than some restaurant in hk!We came late so many thing were sold out already.Recommended steamed har gau (shrimp dumplings), steamed scallop dumplings, steamed rice roll, barbecued pork buns, sponge cake and roll.

This restaurant was ok. Went here for Dim Sum. Portions were small but tasty. Our wait staff was friendly and answered our questions. The boss barked at her when answering our questions. Not the best atmosphere for dining after that. Seafood Noodles best dish we had. Thought their prices were higher than other local Dim Sum restaurants. First time here and will not be returning. I gave them a try... maybe your experience will be better.

service meh. we came to dinner and we were there the old customers. our server was not rude, but also not attentive. we ordered hot tee, but I wanted jasmine. we wrote this on the order sheet, but ended with another tee. we ordered several items, we were informed that they did not have the tart as we were served. she yelled at us and we got no opportunity to order anything else. our server just ran away. all the above are in vain, but I draw the line to served moldy food. avoid it here to all taste! Got premium food so we got premiums flavors. For Christmas day our family decided to have a feast. We got the Alaskan king crab that was $54 a pound. Our crab was 10 pounds. That and all the other stuff added together made the meal a wonderful experience. Flavors were on point and fresh to the taste. As usual we got so much food I had to clean up the ends of the plates as everyone was getting full. This place is definitely a hidden gem. Initially when you walk in there is a smell from the tank that holds the seafood but very quickly you get used to it in anticipation for the food.

First time eating here. We were not impressed. The waitress gave us rude service. She asked us what drinks we wanted I told her water for me and then she left assuming everyone else wanted water as well, not even caring that they wanted something else. There were four of us and she tossed two chopsticks at the table and when asked for more she made a rude sigh and took off to get another set. Our dumplings came out cold in the middle and the rest of our food was barely warm besides the dumpling soup which was so hot I burned my mouth. All the dishes came out at separate times, instead of bringing them together. The dishes we ordered were overly on the salty side. We will not be returning.

"Food good. Location good. Service good. BUT, the hidden charges REALLY ruined an otherwise nice experience. Example: HH menu lists Martinis as a $3 upcharge to the $7 base charge. Fair enough. Bombay is a listed alcohol; requested. When the bill was returned I was charged for a Bombay Sapphire which is not on the HH list. Charge? $11 $3. I asked for Bombay, not Bombay Sapphire. Waiter: Oh, let me look into that. AND, by the way Blue Cheese olives? Extra $1. REALLY? I 've NEVER paid extra for BC olives ANYWHERE. AND the confusing menus that a dish as including an extra sauce, [and I don 't recall the exact language but it made it seem that an additional items could be selected as well. Oops, there goes an extra $10.95. AND, the waiter recommending a twice-baked potato. Bah, boom, another $5.95. [which in fairness is disclosed on the menu in a different location, but waiter made it sound as if it was a no-charge option on the surf and turf. AND the split plate charge which I don 't think was disclosed on the menu. Ding, ding, extra $3.00. Was this a waiter, who was overly up-selling or restaurant deception? Don 't know. As I said, the food WAS good. AND, the ambience [at least in the bar area, stay away of the hotel-ballroom-like main dining area was nice. Just beware the nickel and dime charges that the waiter won 't be disclosing to you."
