"Shy Bird is conveniently located near a T stop and has a nice atmosphere. We arrived early for our reservation and had to wait awkwardly off to the side of the host stand, which put us in the way of other incoming guests. Once we were seated, our server quickly brought water and asked if we were ready to order drinks. After a short wait, we ordered a pretzel starter to share, a smash burger for me, and a chicken sandwich for my boyfriend. Unfortunately, we had to wait a long time for our food and the starter arrived at the same time as our main courses, which was disappointing. The food itself was nothing special - my burger was greasy and had a diner-style feel to it, while my boyfriend's chicken sandwich was described as sad. We wanted to ask for extra napkins but our server never returned to our table. When it came time to pay, the total for one starter and two handhelds was $50 plus tip, which we felt was not worth it. Additionally, the pretzels we ordered were more expensive at Shy Bird compared to buying them at Whole Foods. Overall, we were not impressed with our experience at Shy Bird."

The chicken nuggets with ranch are awesome, I love that they have lots of vegetarian items, and the drinks are delish (if a little sweet).

Great food. Only issue was that how cold it got everytime the front door was open. There is another entrance that seems like it would be better to use to cut down on that chill.

This is our go-to spot in town for a delicious and quick meal. Every item on the menu is fantastic, but the fries and dips are especially outstanding. The service is excellent, with some of the most attentive staff in the area. View menu

Three former coworkers met in the late afternoon to catch up. The service was excellent, the food was good and exactly as ordered. The space was noisy, but there was no music to shout over, which was a positive. Overall, they would return to the restaurant.

Great food at decent prices for a prime location in Cambridge. A good view of the Kendall square/MIT area from the restaurant . Outdoor seating available. Better to book in advance although you can get a seat when there?s no rush. Their chicken is very soft and juicy. A nice spot to go with friends/co-workers/a date.

This place was really tasty! The service was excellent. I wasn?t sure what to expect with the roasted chicken as it can sometimes be dry when served , but it was so tender and juicy ? some of the best roasted chicken I?ve had! Our server was so kind and even did some art on our to go box. I could see this used as future potential marketing. View menu

Tasty rotisserie chicken! Picture shows half chicken size. Loved the chipotle bbq on the side but I felt like the chicken didn't need it as it had good seasoning on its own. Pear/Pecan salad was ok, I felt like it was missing something and the squash didn't taste as good as I would've liked. The service was very nice and friendly! Highly recommend the sandwiches, fries, and of course the chicken (both rotisserie or fried).

Let me tell you several things about my recent experience at Shy Bird. I booked it hoping for heated outdoor seating as they’d had in the past, but when I arrived, they’d done away with that option. The host instead rerouted me; polite to my quiet unease, to the open-air back of the restaurant where ventilation was better and an exit nearby. I felt seen and heard without having to say or do anything specific. Then as I waited for friends, our server swung by and made sure I had a coffee while I hung around. She was friendly and attentive and always on the ball. As always, the food was generous and flavorful. It was a wonderful experience overall and everyone enjoyed their time there. Will ab...

"No soup/sandwich shop compares in terms of price per quality, portion size, and different options in the area. I only started ordering from here about 2 weeks ago and I’ve now had 7 different kinds of soups and 4 different kinds of sandwiches after the first order I started ordering two soups and a sandwich aka a soup to save for later because they’re just that good, every one of them. Price is so very reasonable and depending on which combo you get you can make out with a full sized sandwich and large sized homemade soup for $14.While it’s hard to recommend one thing over another in this circumstance since it’s all been great in their own ways, the Chicken Chowder is something I plan on getting a quart of next time it’s available. The Chicken Barley and Chicken Lemon Rice are ones I plan on getting quarts of in the future as well, and that’s not to discount the Chicken Noodle, Beef and Veg Noodle Stew, French Onion, and the current seasonal Chilled Gazpacha (which I probably wouldn’t have even tried it wasn’t from these guys . It’s all top quality. The Chicken Tarragon sandwich is my favorite in terms of sandwiches although it can’t combo with a soup as of now (please let us! . The best cheap soup combo sandwich is a tossup between the Cilantro Tuna and Ciabatta Sandwich, which are both incredible in their own ways. The only few drawbacks to this place are they don’t have every soup they make every day, are only open until 4PM, and aren’t open on the weekends. That said it’s worth it to plan accordingly for this. I never review anything but this place is worth it it’s the best if you’re a soup and sandwich person like I am."
