"Our waitress took our order, and we did our best to pronounce everything correctly while minimizing questions, simply pointing at the menu items we wanted. She quickly brought our drinks—water and delicious malbec wine for $6.95 a glass with a generous pour. Our appetizers, shrimp ceviche and empanadas, arrived shortly after. The shrimp ceviche was tasty, featuring large shrimp served with four perfectly crisp tostones, which we both appreciated. The empanada had a very crispy exterior that was different from the usual pastry dough, although the filling was a bit sparse but still quite flavorful.
Soon after, our main courses arrived. My mixed grill platter was fantastic, and my husband really enjoyed his steak with a special Colombian sauce and spices. The sides were relatively bland, consisting of arepa, rice and beans, and a plain quarter of avocado in its shell, but we still ate everything. We ended up with more food than we could finish in one sitting, so we were given a to-go container and enjoyed the leftovers the next day.
The total bill came to $86, including tip. Based on the quality of the proteins alone, I would definitely return!"
