"Soogil is full of amusement. Every single dish was satisfying. The start came with 2 amuse Bouches; beef tartar and Foie gras mousse that freshed my mouth and pulled the appetite with the creamy finish. The second was Yello tail with aged Kimchi. If I'm not mistaken, the Kimchi was 5 years aged. It was white and looked like chopped pickle but gave a whole different taste and added savor to this sashimi dish. The third was grilled scallop and potato with Doenjang soup. The Doenjang soup was the kick of this dish and went really well with those two. Never had Doenjang like this. It was creamy, rich, and soothing.Uni was served with rice wrapped in Gamtae, wild seaweed. Uni was very fresh, and its natural sweetness was perfectly matched with Gamtae, which gives the scent of the ocean.Next was Black Cod with crispy Gochujang on top. This dish was cooked right, a light first entree. My friend and I shared Nurungji Foie gras. Soy sauce poured around the crispy rice and foie gras on the grilled pan captured our eyes and nose. You cannot defy this.Soogil's signature Beef Wellington was mesmerizing. Just got out of the oven and plated on the flowers. It's like a piece of art on canvas. The meat was so tender and juicy with full of flavors. For dessert, they have chocolate cake or mango sorbet. Either gives you the right finish. They have good options for drinks as well. We had Meursault 2013. It was a perfect pair.Overall, I really enjoyed Soogil, and I'd say all the pleasant and lively experiences the chef tried to convey were fully appreciated.I will definitely visit again."

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while. Unfortunately, the Beef Wellington was overcooked. I expected medium rare, not medium well. The dessert dish with chocolate inside is hard and cold not even melting.Overall, I wasn’t happy with the experience.

We had an amazing dinner at Soogil for my birthday celebration. Starting with 2 appetizers, all of them were excellent! Both were my favorite. The duck was very savory and sea bass was so crispy and the broth was really good. Service was amazing as well. Everyone was so attentive and all the dishes were delivered very smoothly.Highly highly recommended ??

We had a fantastic experience here on the New Year Eve. Every course is creatively designed and exquisitely prepared to the perfection. The combination of high quality ingredients and sources made every dish a masterpiece and gave us very a unique experience. The atmosphere and service are also excellent that made our dining really comfortable and joyful. This is a highly recommended place for creative and modern Korean tasting. View menu

@soogilnyc for #Valentinesday. Still one of the best value in town for fine-dining/ chefs-tasting-menu.@soogil is an under-the-radar hidden gem. The beef tartare with Asian pear was just out of this world. The mango sorbet was an out-of-the-park home run to finish off the evening. And Chef Soogil Lim came out to greet us. That was a special treat! We were so surprised we’ve forgotten to take a picture with him. #chefstastingmenu #tastingmenu #finedining #koreanfusion #culinaryarts #nyc #foodtravel #bestrestaurants #hiddengems #foodie #foodienyc #foodblogger #foodies #foodiesnyc

We came here for Christmas Eve dinner, and they were offering their 5 course Christmas set menu. We added an additional course of the foie gras. The food was really delicious and well presented. However my husband's plate of the beef wellington had a bit of the string in it (from the wrapping of the whole beef wellington). He was chewing and chewing and eventually spat it out and realized it was not the beef, but the string. We told our waiter about it and he was very apologetic and offered us an extra course of their uni bowl. We were extremely full, so we declined but they still offered us non alcoholic cocktail drinks. We were only able to take a sip or two (very full at this point). I wis...

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
