"My recent experience at South Gate Brewing Company was quite disappointing. We waited over an hour to be seated, which I understood given the busy evening. However, the real frustration set in once we were finally at our table. We waited an additional hour without any acknowledgment from the staff. Despite our attempts to attract someone's attention, no one came to take our order, check on us, or even offer an explanation for the delay. After two hours without so much as a drink or appetizer, we felt we had no choice but to leave. It’s unfortunate that such a promising place suffers from poor service. I hope they can improve their service, as the current experience certainly leaves a lot to be desired."

Stopped here during a day trip from Fresno. Really enjoyed the beer, food and atmosphere. The patio is dog friendly.

Parking is a challenge but once you get there it’s all top notch. You may think of it as just a local spot but speaking as an out of towner, everything was pretty much perfect View menu

I ate outside and ordered fish chips. I think it was a bad day for the F C. Undercooked twice. Blond beer was perfect for me. Sorry, chips/fries, not special. Sitting outside was wonderful because the weather was perfect. Meat bees ? like it too.

We dined here twice, and both times were fantastic. Personally, I really loved the Mac and Cheese, as well as the Brussels sprouts. I also tried the Pecan beer that a friend suggested, and surprisingly, I actually liked it—even though I'm not usually a beer drinker.

The food and beer were excellent! We tried the beer cheese pretzel, crispy roasted Brussels sprouts, black bean burgers, and the beet ricotta salad, all of which I would definitely recommend. They also have outdoor seating, but it was a bit too hot for us and we ended up feeling sweaty. View menu

The facility is large, has plenty of seating and a large parking lot. Very polite service. We ordered 2 starters to split: steak fries (fries with meat, be careful, very fatty 7/10, Crispy Fried Brussels Sprouts (roasted Brussels sprouts 9/10 (recommended! , Smash Gate Burger 9/10, Pub Fish and Chips 7/10, Pacific Cod Fish Tacos 9/10 (the best dish we ate here .

"Average BBQ for touristy prices. Protein is certainly on every hungry hiker's mind after a day in Yosemite, and we made a point to come here for dinner based on previous reviews. Look for the two story sky blue lodge style building. Fair number of parking spaces, shared with some other businesses in the plaza. The place is smaller than the building suggests, with the counter and dining space taking up maybe half of the building's first floor. The door puts you directly in front of the order counter and kitchen, and staff were peppy and friendly. Order meat from the first employee, sides from the second, and get your drinks from the register person who will ring you up. The whole process is pretty efficient, and though we were initially told the brisket was out, someone brought out a giant slab of brisket right before we were about to order. Ambiance is sort of a once charming saloon sticky linoleum tables and chairs, with old country hits playing. I did like that each table was equipped with a roll of paper towels and original as well as spicy house BBQ sauce. Would probably try to eat on the porch next time in ambient weather. We got a half pound each of brisket and smoked sausage, and a half rack of ribs. Complemented by broccoli salad and mac n' cheese. Everything was pretty meh. Brisket, despite being as fresh as we could have gotten it, was dry and the flavor had been cooked out of it. Even though it had a nice smoke ring, there was no juice to each bite and I had to swab it in BBQ sauce to help it go down. Similarly, the ribs had a nice glaze but didn't have fall off the bone quality. Sausage was, well, sausage. Sides were okay (good portion size), with the broccoli salad being a nice variety of apples, slaw, and raisins, but the mac n' cheese was saved only by the bacon bits on top (optional). Not sure if we came on an off day but would be shocking to go 0 for 3 in meats at a dedicated BBQ restaurant."
