""The best I've had since I was in France," someone said modestly. We ordered pain au chocolat, a pear bourdaloue tart, and an apple fritter (the name escapes me, but it's definitely more French). The apple fritter had a wonderfully flaky texture, but the inside was cold, which was a strange sensation. I'd like to try it at room temperature or warm next time. The pear tart was quite good; the balance of crust, almond cream, and pear was just right. However, I do wish the pear slices were laid out across the tart instead of just one large piece."

There is a lot of variety of different pastries, although I haven't been able to explore them in detail.

Fantastic French baked goods coffee! Pan Au Chocolat was my favorite followed by a delicious Apricot Tart. View menu

I ordered the Canele, which usually has a nice chewiness and a hint of rum on the exterior to balance the sweetness. Unfortunately, this one was a bit mushy, and I couldn’t taste the rum at all. It wasn’t very good, unfortunately.

Cons: This location isn't as appealing as others in Portland. There are quite a few sketchy individuals around (which isn't the bakery's fault, but still a drawback), and most of the staff are young, which sometimes affects service.

Ordered two sandwiches, a quiche, and some bakery items and it was all pretty bad. The quality was terrible, lettuce was NOT fresh, and they served it on paper plates. The quiche tastes like hay btw and the sandwiches were SO BAD we couldn’t even finish. If you like bad food try this place out! View menu

There are couple of things they should improve. There are not so many kinds in the shelf comparing to other branches. Also breads and cakes are dried out. Definitely the owner should check. Casher wore the gloves but touched credit card, macaroons, register machines, and windows. This is seriously hygiene problem. Table was not clean enough. Saw extra staffs giggling in the kitchen but they don’t work.

This was my go for homemade soup gone train wreck. I ordered a soup to find out that they serve it in plastic containers and they heat it up in plastic containers whether it's for here or to go. This kind of plastic is not supposed to be heated in the microwave. I'm very concerned because my dad used to put Styrofoam and plastic in the microwave and he was diagnosed with Parkinson's. Slap my hand if you also are bummed?
