"MICHELIN EXPERIENCE INDEED ... Came here with my family including our 12 yo twins... come early since the line builds early... just park at one and f the neighbouring Japan-town secure underground garage for a straight two or so block easy and busy trot to this restaurant... Much more of a festive ambiance and dining-beat with dim sum serving-like service sharing their freshly made appetizers and entrees... definitely NOT pushy and very well timed waitstaff offering their diverse menu AND DRINKS the entire fare. My heathen picky eater kids even enjoyed such... not just the tasty peanut butter desert...which they ordered several for the entire table. What was a fabulous touch to the dining experience... was watching HAWAII-BORN (Kaimuki Oahu wahine) CHEF MAEDA... so pleasantly checking on her evening patrons... including some Hawaii-talk-story-kine discourse with us... and entertaining and sharing with us the well chosen and crafted ingredients, her culinary inspiration, and detailed execution of her meals!!! We were so impressed and even purchased her cookbook which she signed! Will definitely be back... and will eagerly bring our Hawaii and California family and friends! 5 star food 5 star festive upbeat cozy ambiance And 5 star friendly service Mahalo nui loa to CHEF MAEDA and her fabulous happy and talented culinary staff!! MICHELIN EXPERIENCE INDEED!!"

Loved this place. We went for my parters birthday and were not disappointed. It's new American but dim sum style...you order off the menu, but they also come around with a cart that has amazing small bites you can add on if they look good. Loved it

Service was horrendous. Didn’t get served or order taken for the first 30 minutes sitting in the restaurant on a Friday night. Food is pretty mediocre as well. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100+ Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Love state bird's dim sum style concept! The food is consistently delish, the ambiance is exactly the right amount of liveliness we like, and the staff is attentive and personable. We love eating and taking friends here to showcase what a Michelin star restaurant can offer without spending over $300 per person. View menu

Food, ambiance, service, etc. everything is great, and I used to go there regularly and recommended it to everyone. But be aware that if you call them to cancel your reservation way ahead of time, they may end up not taking it into account in their system and charge you a $50/head cancellation fee and fight it with your bank if you file a claim, which is a shameful behavior and goes against their stated terms conditions upon booking.

This was such a fun dinner! To be able to pick out your own dishes on the spot was a fun and interactive experience with my bf. I like how you don't really know what to expect, you just take them as they come. We walked in for a table for 2 on a week night and were pretty lucky to get a table under 30-40min. Reservations can be made online! Most of the dishes were asian-inspired, pretty tasty but a bit too salty for my palate. My favorite was the pomegranate crudo dish!

Dining concept was interesting, and some food was good, like the silken tofu, trout dip and pork belly. Unfortunately, a lot of the food was more interesting than actually tasty, that is, beyond the first bite, they were lacking in execution. Service was poor, as made to order dishes were slow, and cart passed us by several times. Servers placed food items on edge of table precariously multiple times, and when asked for an item, it would often take multiple requests. Overall fine, not bad, but not worth the price. View menu

A curated dining experience from start to finish. I came here for a birthday celebration and they picked the perfect table, with exquisite service from start to finish. The start bird, quail, definitely stood out as the showstopper of the meal (breaded, seasoned, and fried to perfection). Although not all the dishes had flavors that I thought worked, the sheer variety of flavorswere a sight to behold. Other honorary mentions: sauerkraut toast, pork belly, and the smoked ham toast. For someone who wantsto try many different flavors from a melting pot of cuisines and appreciates an exquisite level of service, this is the perfectrestaurant for you.

State Bird Provisions in San Francisco is a dining gem that left me absolutely impressed. This place is a must visit for food enthusiasts and anyone looking for a memorable culinary experience. The food is served in small portions, and it's fun to share and try a bit of everything. The State Bird with Provisions is a must try it's super crispy and tasty. They have a cart with different bites, and it's cool to pick what you like. Some dishes were hits, some were so so, but overall, we left with full bellies and happy taste buds. The service at State Bird Provisions is top notch. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive, and they're more than happy to guide you through the menu and answer any...
