"This is a quaint little diner/cafe that offers a charming atmosphere. It’s not overly crowded for breakfast, which is a plus. There are just the right number of seats to accommodate the weekend brunch crowd. The service is excellent, with friendly and attentive waitstaff who always greet you with a smile. They consistently check in to see if you need anything. The prices are quite reasonable, especially considering the generous portions. The food is served quickly and is surprisingly delicious for diner fare. I would definitely return and highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a nice place to eat!"

Amazed to find an affordable little cafe in this area. Very nice people working here and cozy vibe; NOT one of those stuffy stainless steal cafes where the coffee cost $4. Definitely going to recommend!

Best breakfast/brunch in town. The people here are amazing. Neighborhood staple no lie. Eggs are always on point and the Customers are always happy. That’s the best pulse check on a restaurant you could ever have. Clean plates? Yes sir. 10 stars for Sweet Life my guy.

Amazing! Such a cute little diner with excellent service. Had the mouthwateting banana chocolate chip pancakes. They're very accommodating and served my friend French toast with bananas and chocolate chips on top. Perfectly cooked eggs, great bacon and coffee refills. The prices are incredibly low and the service is unbelievable good and fast. Come here asap!

This cute little diner is tucked away far west on Christopher Street, a block or two from the river. It's super chill, has everything you need and even a tiny table out front. Inexpensive, for this area especially, the food is fresh and fast, the service friendly and the atmosphere ranges from relaxed to kooky (they have a life size Frankenstein out front, because why? Love this place, you probably will too View menu

Sweet Life has been our cozy go to place since 2014. My husband and I shared the beginning of our relationship going to this cute little restaurant. Dolly and Jean are so friendly and welcoming that they become part of your family. What makes the difference? Their excellent service and the coziness of their food. This is actually my 4-year old daughter favorite restaurant, this is where we meet everyday during my lunch break.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. I've walked by it frequently and always wanted to visit, especially when it wasn't too crowded. The seating area is spacious, and both Valerie and Marilyn were very friendly. The food was tasty, and the portion sizes were just right for the price. With rising diner prices these days, this place offered a much better value for what I wanted to spend. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I will definitely be returning.

Two-Year Update: This place continues to impress after nearly two years of visits. I highly recommend it; it’s my favorite casual brunch spot in the city—never too crowded and completely unpretentious. The food and service are just delightfully old-fashioned. It’s a fantastic little diner for breakfast and lunch. The quality of the food is great, and the prices are incredibly affordable. I’ll definitely be coming back for a long time! It’s the only place where you can enjoy $6 French toast and $9 omelets. The service is quick, and the staff is exceptionally friendly! I absolutely love this place. View menu

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
