"At noon, I was a little apprehensive as there was a long line and it seemed chaotic. However, the menu clearly highlighted vegan options. The owner was friendly and helpful in answering questions and making suggestions. They make their own ruffles, hummus, and falafel from scratch in-house, and top your order with delicious toppings. I tried a falafel bowl with pickled beets, roasted almonds, parsley, and garlic tahini. It was incredibly flavorful with a variety of textures. The option to grab utensils at the counter for takeout orders, including extra condiments and toothpicks, was a thoughtful touch. The eco-friendly packaging was also a plus. This place should be a top choice for anyone looking for a delicious meal."

The Esquire Pita with chicken shawarma, French fries, parsley mix, tomatoes, and garlic and tahini sauce on a fresh baked pita is the bomb.. it’s like the California burrito of chicken shawarmas! View menu

This place is epic. The food is cooked to perfection. The owners are generous, kind and humble and make the most delicious food. When we come in from Toronto, this is always our first, middle and last stop. You’ll be happy with anything your order. Enjoy your experience.

I came to order for takeout. I ordered a bowl with chicken and two sauce. They forgot to to give any sauce. Also order some steak tahini fries there's no steak. I don't understand where the quality control suppose to be. I got home and I saw that they forgot the steak and sauce. It's not worth making the trip to go back. I can't believe I paid $27 and they couldn't even make it close to be correct. View menu

the menu clearly marks vegan items – including sides and sauces. the pita was not specifically marked – so I asked and the kitchen confirmed it also vegan. all vegan dishes here pamper the falafel. satisfied to order, these herbaceous cherry fitters meet a wonderful balance of moisturity and eat. packed in a pita 7) with the standard salat, tomato, red wobble and picked gurke, I added (plus) plastered, plambiti it's too early to call the best falafel in san diego, so I just let you end up saying-not-saying.

The menu clearly indicates which items are vegan, including sauces and toppings. Although the Pita was not specifically labeled, the kitchen confirmed it was also vegan. The vegan dishes here all feature delicious falafel. I was pleased with my order of falafel, which had a perfect balance of moisture and flavor. Served in a Pita ($7) with a standard salad, I also added additional toppings like gyros, pepperoncini, and kalamata olives at no extra cost. The sweet BBQ Tahiti sauce was a nice touch. While it may be too soon to declare this the best falafel in San Diego, I'll just say it was pretty darn close.

"I adore this restaurant. Golden Hill is filled with many many quality eateries, and Counterpoint anchors the neighborhood with it's fun atmosphere and dedication to quality. They recently renovated and the new space is open, airy and provides a variety of seating options: bar seating, restaurant seating, and upper balcony (I use this as a quiet place to WFH during the week), and an outdoor patio. I'm partial to the biscuit and gravy for breakfast, but the brined chicken and waffles or breakfast hash always makes me smile and sends me unto the world with a better outlook on life and a doggie bag. When it's hot, delicious crunchy salads are on the lunch menu and the craft beers and unique slushy flavors change. Counterpoint takes the quality of food and libations seriously. The craft cocktails rotate as the bartenders are encouraged to explore and grow. The owner and team are always warm, welcoming and make sure you have a good experience. Did I mention they are DOG friendly? Definitely worth the trip up the hill from downtown if you're looking to wind down after an event or precharge and eat before a baseball game. I love to bring my friends for a snack (try the olive selection) and chat on a twilight night. Space heaters outside if you get cold. Fans inside if you get warm. Honestly if you live in or are visiting the 92102 area code you should go to Counterpoint: good food, really good cocktails, and great company. It is clear that this establishment cares about quality, cares about your comfort and loves if you have a good time."
