""My family and I had a wonderful lunch at Galata Restaurant in NJ recently, and it was a truly memorable experience. We tried the kokorech and liver dishes, which were both incredibly delicious. The flavors were rich and the presentation was impressive. The restaurant's meticulous attention to detail in both preparation and taste was truly commendable. The service was top-notch, with attentive and friendly staff who made us feel welcome and well taken care of throughout our meal. The cozy and inviting atmosphere only added to the overall enjoyment of our dining experience. I highly recommend Galata Restaurant to anyone in search of a fantastic meal in NJ. Food and presentation were amazing. Employees were really friendly as well. The meat had a good taste. Probably one of the best Turkish Mediterranean restaurants I’ve been to.

Everything is amazing BUT meat portion is very small. Your prices are very reasonable I should suggest to raise the prices to 19.99 from 16.99 but add some more meat size. Adana is too thin and lamb shish is too small. But very yummy.Food: 4/5

The cuisine at this restaurant is absolutely amazing and flawless. Without a doubt, it is the most delightful food I have ever had in the USA. I highly recommend it to everyone as it is undeniably the best Turkish restaurant in the country. Food rating: 5 out of 5. View menu

If you want to taste the flavor of Istanbul's restaurants, Galata Restaurant is the one for you. I live in Clifton and have been to many Turkish restaurants, but I have never had such a delicious meat before. The attentive staff members are an added bonus. Everything was perfect, my friends. Thank you for your efforts.Food: 5/5

I absolutely love this restaurant in Patterson, NJ. They offer amazing meat options and the best gyro I've ever had. The location is convenient, with parking right in front of the plaza. Our server, Kibrisli, was fantastic and really attentive. I'll definitely be returning to try more items on the menu. Overall, I give the food a perfect 5 out of 5 rating.

Update! They renovated inside and it looks really good. We tried kokorec and gyros, I can honestly say it was the best kokorec and gyro I tried so far. They also have midye dolma! I highly recommend! They have variety of option to choose what to eat. Food was delicious but the ambiance is not that nice to be honest. They need to fill that space with tables so it won’t look like they are in the middle of some kind of moving. Overall nice food. View menu

I ordered Kokoreç and Kizu Beyti. Kokoreç was delicious. I always eat İstanbul style Kokoreç.I also ordered Kuzu Beyti. First time I tried it. Will not be my first choice, but still it was tasty. If you want to taste original delicious Turkish kebabs, you have to visit this place. In their menu, all kinds of Turkish kebaps and other options exist.Parking: There is a free parking lot but it is always full, you have to find metered street parking around

We came to Galata based on the recommendation, some reviews were raving and some not so much. So anyway we decided to give it a shot but we're rather disappointed. Less than mediocre ambiance, service below average and not attentive at all. At least 5 servers passed by our table but none stopped. Order wait is longer than usual. We ordered mixed grill for two for $89, however it had a very skimpy selection of prime meats mostly kofta skewers and it was very dry as if it was reheated couple of times. Not recommended.

"Update 11/19/22: So far I’ve had the Dolma 3 times and sadly I won’t ever be ordering it again. First time, I really enjoyed it. It was nice and tangy and had good flavor. Second time, it was definitely a different recipe, and did not taste as good as the first time but it was edible. This most recent order was again a different recipe, did not have the same flavor as the first two times, was a lot more spicy and had some other spices in it that weren’t in jt before and the dealbreaker for us was that all of our stuffed onions were so burnt that we could not eat them and threw them out. They were burnt through to the middle, not just the outside. The grape leaves were all mushy and just hard to eat, there were no peppers, and they gave us such a small portion for $14.99. This time there was bread which I appreciated, however, the bread was raw around the edges and so we just ended up throwing that out as well. Why are you serving burnt dolma? If you see that it’s burnt, you don’t serve it! If you want returning customers you don’t cheat people out of their money. We ordered Dolma for takeout. And the mint yogurt drink. The dolma is very good and nice and tangy as Iraqi Dolma should be. I don’t like that they placed the dolma on a bed of shredded lettuce. I don’t get that. No one wants to eat soggy lettuce. Would have been better with bread underneath or just plain with nothing. Also it’s a total waste of lettuce because no one eats it. The yogurt drink was also good but unfortunately it was warm. Would have liked it better if it was ice cold. That being said, I’m happy about there being an Iraqi restaurant in the neighborhood and I look forward to going there to try out more delicious Iraqi food."
