Outstanding service, food, and location! There were a lot of people here and the staff served us impeccably. I hope to see many more people enjoy this establishment

We had a truly excellent experience at Manitou! We enjoyed the white fish and the rib curls, both of which were delicious. The service was knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant was bustling on a Sunday night, which is always a good sign! View menu

Delicious food, smaller portions at lower prices from 4-6pm.a wide variety of indoor and outdoor seating areas. Frog legs were tasty, also came with soup or salad along with potato or veggies. A veggie tray and hot bread also came with meal. The chocolate dessert was decadent! Very friendly staff.

This is a fantastic local restaurant that may appear small from the outside, but don't be deceived—there's plenty of space inside, along with outdoor seating available in the summer. Our meal for six was delicious, and the staff was excellent, even though it was quite busy during our visit. The only downside is the parking situation, which is quite poor; they really need to create more parking spaces to avoid street parking. Aside from that, it's a wonderful place!

Overall the ambience and vibe were great. The bar and cocktails were spot on. As for the food, most of the plates we saw looked great in terms of preparation and portion. Unfortunately, while the menu offered sautéed Lake Perch, the Chef’s or kitchen’s version of sautéed was fried and battered. They looked more like a chicken tender, and the taste of the Perch was indiscernible due to the excessive breading. The cherry house dressing….. ANOTHER LEVEL!!! Sooooooo good! Bought a bottle and made a salad the next day with it lol. To be honest, Before coming here I didn’t expect to have enjoyed this place as much as I did. The herb chicken was amazing. Everyone at the table loved what they had. The apps were the coconut shrimp and whitefish tar tar? I believe it was… anywho it was very good as well.You won’t be disappointed. We drove 35 mins, but I think this will be a spot during our upnorth vacation moving forward. :

Got lucky and scored a reservation for the next day, when we tried to just show up for dinner. Just so happened I ate there on their busiest day ever! Wait staff is pleasant and helpful, kitchen is gifted, even if they can get emotional. (We heard rumors of their exasperation with the relentless pace of a busy day/night. Overall it was really excellent food. Two of us had the duck and it was some of the best I've ever had, juicy, crispy, flavorful. I subtracted one point only for the outdoor dining experience. It needs to be more bug-resistant, maybe a netted tent? A meal here is a must if you are in this area of Michigan. Highly Recommended!

After about five hours of chasing the fish on our plates, my brother and I finally made it to the Manitou. We were starving like gods after being on the water all day. I know we looked a bit rough around the edges compared to the others there, who were dressed in golf attire with silver hair and an air of superiority. I couldn't help but feel that the staff might have been tired of us, perhaps viewing us as vagrants. But the experience was surprisingly wonderful. We both ordered the roasted white fish, and it did not disappoint. Overall, it was a good experience.
