"Exceptional restaurant serving authentic and delicious Vietnamese food with fresh ingredients. And if you can tell from my name, I am Vietnamese and I know what I'm talking about. Have tasted and eaten at a lot of Vietnamese restaurants. The location couldn't be better! Having this in downtown Los Altos is so convenient for me, since I can walk from my office and either eat in or pick up to go.Let's get into the food!Shrimp papaya salad is soooo good. Every now and then I crave me some papaya salad, and this hits the spot.Banh mi comes lightly toasted bread with tender beef and side of chips a favorite!Beef stew is tender and the broth is rich and flavorful, comes with fresh bread or noodles.Bun Thit Nuong with perfectly grilled pork and cold noodles with fish sauce dressing.Beef pho has so much goodness in the broth and the beef is just right for cold weather or anytime really. Especially when the temperature drops and that piping hot bowl of pho is simply divine. With such a rave review, maybe I was holding off on writing it for so long because I don't want the word to get out. But this restaurant is a gem and I hope it will continue to be around for many years to come."

Amazing chicken pho. So great. I'd eat here everyday if I could. It's warm and a good sizable portion and delicious.

The chicken and vegan pho is hands down our favorite pho in the Bay Area! Dont miss the fried tofu, veggie spring rolls and egg rolls too! View menu

Overall good experience but Vietnamese shrimp salad was just ok (a lot of shredded cabbage and not that much shrimp). The cabin is cozy inside.

This restaurant has an amazing atmosphere. The food was fantastic; I ordered the egg rolls and pho Tai. The server was prompt and friendly. The place is very cozy, featuring charming cabin decor and gentle music.

Always a great experience! The banh mi is packed with plenty of chicken, and I highly recommend trying the vegetarian fresh spring rolls. One request I have for Pho Cabin is to use sustainable and biodegradable containers and bags for takeout orders. I'm willing to pay a little extra to help reduce plastic waste. View menu

In my opinion, paying $40 for a bowl of pho, spring rolls, and a soda is excessive. While the food was decent—not amazing or terrible, just okay—the spring rolls lacked creativity; they featured thin, bland pork but were fresh and crispy. The pho was also just average, with a bit too many noodles. There are many other pho places that offer a comparable experience at a lower price.

The staff is fast and the food is always tasty. I usually order the rice plate with pork and egg rolls, but my family members have also enjoyed the other dishes we've tried. The side salad with pickled vegetables is great, although I find the tomatoes less appealing and often choose to skip them. The hot dishes are where the chefs truly excel. I really appreciate how quickly they handle lunch orders—if I place a to-go order, it's typically ready in under 20 minutes and conveniently packed for easy pickup. This means that by the time I drive over, my order is perfectly ready to go.

"Date Night ASA Restaurant has two locations in the Bay Area and their Los Gatos location earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition This was my first dining experience at their more north location in downtown Los Altos With high ceilings and heart themed adorned menus, this was a perfect spot for a Valentine’s week dining experience The menu here is slightly different from the Los Gatos location and I’ve heard that the two locations may not be as closely affiliated when they first opened I loved the appetizers and particular loved the anchovy bread with two different anchovy types topped on crisp, warm bread. The Dungeness crab appetizer was also excellent For entrees, I opted for ASA’s signature exotic mushroom pasta that is on both the Los Gatos and Los Altos menu As a fungi fan, I absolutely love this dish and it’s one of the best pasta dishes in the South Bay and Peninsula The only miss was their special of the day of striped bass over risotto. The purple yam purée was sour and the risotto dry with zero moisture or liquid and more like a cooked rice dish than a risotto ASA is a fantastic destination for the Bay Area and while the prices are elevated, they reflect elevated cuisine (and high ceilings) Smoked and Stoned $16 Anchovy Bread $16 Dungeness Crab Toast $36 Special Striped Bass over Risotto ASA’s Exotic Mushroom Pasta $34 ASA Restaurant (Los Altos, CA) Reservations are recommended on Opentable and dining is indoor only. Credit cards including AmEx are accepted."

"The experience here from start to finish was pretty odd, and the service was bad. Menus weren't brought to us for a long time, they apologized when they eventually gave the menus to us. The restaurant was nearly empty aside from one other table, but everything was slow. We weren't checked in on at all during the meal. When we ordered, the waitress was very confused and unfamiliar with the menu. I assumed she was new, but then we received the same confusing service from all staff. We were randomly brought French fries that we didn't order, and then that kept happening with various other menu items The veggies in all the dishes were cold and tasted watery, unseasoned, and like they had been frozen. Scallion pancakes had no scallions in them at all. Basil eggplant dish had no basil at all. Smoothie wasn't blended properly: all ice at the bottom, and only a super sweet watery liquid would come through the straw. It tasted like the same overly-processed sauce was on every dish, nothing felt fresh. The kimchi rice was a good menu item, but it didn't really taste like kimchi. Just seasoned rice. Appetizer and drinks were brought out after we finished everything. A staff member tried to argue with us when we wanted to send something back. When we paid and thanked them, they didn't say a word to us or even look in our direction, and didn't give us a customer copy of the receipt."
