"The Pig was everything I expected it to be and then some. My sister and I made a reservation for 7pm and were seated as soon as we got there. The place was packed to the rafters with groups of people who seemed to be having a good time. I ordered a light German Pilsner which as crisp and refreshing and my sister went for the Riesling, again, very good. We ordered the charcuterie and cheese followed by the porchetta. Absolutely perfect, both in presentation and taste. Had to finish off with some ice cream mango sorbet for my sister and a divine chocolate peppermint for me. Just rounded off that delicious meal. Our server was most attentive, unfortunately I didn’t get his name. This meal will be remembered as one of the highlights of my trip to the Capital!!!"

The sliders were incredible! I've never had a pork chop so thick and juicy. Kemit was an outstanding server.

This was the best meal I have had in years hands down! The staff was amazing and helpful! The food was awesome! Wish I had found it my first night in DC rather than my last!

Great Saturday morning brunch! The rosemary bacon cornbread was delicious and I also had the 'Pig Dip ' sandwich. It was so juicy and the grits side dish was spot on! Great spot to try in DC!

Such an awesome place and would love to go back on my next trip to DC!!! Definitely not the place for vegetarians or vegans. So many pork based items well beyond anything one could imagine! So worth it!!! View menu

Cool inviting environment.  Wood on walls, things to look at and a nice bar service.  Tried a flight of aged bourbon..Yummy!  Party I was with tried multiple items on menu and all where amazing.  Servers gave great recommendations and where very attentive.  Was a little noisy when first arrived and hard to talk.

Great food and atmosphere!! Our party of four had the Big Pig Sampler, Garlic Shrimp and Pork Belly, Trough Burger, Ribs and Porchetta. Throw in the awesome side of Brussel Sprouts and good microbrew drafts and it was a great choice for dinner. We were in town for the Capitals vs. Wild game, but the dinner at The Pig Was worth the trip all on its own....we will be back!! View menu

This is a must stop for us every time we visit DC (several times a year). The name says it all...they use the entire pig. The menu changes depending upon what they have. Even the appetizer options are delicious. Tonight we had the roasted brussel sprouts with bacon and pecans. They have an EXTENSIVE selection of whiskey and bourbon. I had the Bacon Maple Old Fashioned. Yum. The service is friendly and attentive, without intruding on the meal. Tonight our server was Angela, who was charming. They do accept reservations. It was a full house in Saturday night.

I had a truly delicious dinner and received exceptional service from my waitress, Sarah. I started with a squash soup that was perfectly spiced and topped with crispy fried parsley, followed by mushroom gnocchi that was simply exquisite, all complemented by a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. The wine list is impressive, and I was thrilled to see that the restaurant offers two wines from South Africa—a Chenin Blanc and a Cabernet Sauvignon, both from the Stellenbosch region. Bravo! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a delicious meal, excellent service, and a wonderful atmosphere. I’ll be returning on Sunday for my final brunch or dinner in DC before heading back home to Cape Town,...

"Everything ordered: Beet Salad- excellent! Loved the texture the passion fruit added and the horseradish cream cream to balance everything out Margherita pizza- delish! the sauce is flavorful and the dough/crust is everything you want. Shaved White Mushroom pizza- meh. Nothing special. It had no flavor and I was throughly disappointed. Vanilla Soft Serve- simple and tastes good. the fruity pebbles make it look cute, but not a must order. Walnut Miso Cookies- very moist and chewy. I’m not sure if the dough got cross contamination with the fruity pebbles because the cookie tasted fruity. I was really hoping for some saltiness from the miso, but it really just tasted like the cereal used on the ice cream. We took the cookies to go and ate the next day and they maintained their original pleasant texture. Affogato- if it’s on the menu, I’m going to order it. A classic that is always delicious. Service- it was fine. The servers that keep up with refilling water, clearing the tables, bringing new place settings were on top of it. Our actual server was not great and not friendly. He never checked on us. Walked past us several times and I could never get his attention for items needed/ our check. Wait time: we arrived at 5:15 on a Friday and got seated 35 minutes later. For a popular place that is first come first serve, the wait time was not bad. Overall, I’m glad I tried this spot. It’s not high on my ‘must rerun to’ list , but if i happen to be in the area and it’s a short wait, I would eat here again."
