"We had visited the Root Note a year ago and were pleased to find vegan options in such a small town. We planned a return visit despite it being a bit out of the way and the somewhat slow service. However upon entering this time I noted the change. Gone were the vegan options. Replaced with vegetarian friendly but very vegan unfriendly crepes. Thankfully their soup of the day was vegan that day but I definitely won't be going out of my way again. And my omni dining date didn't even enjoy his crepe. I am sad to see another vegan-friendly oasis in the land of dairy gone."

We had the black bean chili (vegan) and the Cremlin crepe with mushrooms, spinach and fried egg. The coffee was great, the iced tea was great, and the staff was very pleasant. Even the music was good.

while the menu has changed since my first visit, root note is still a great place in la crosse. they no longer list vegan articles on their chalkboard, but after I was asked that they still offered this article. the vegan crepes are great and definitely worth a review.

the root note has the best mochas I ever had. 3 they have cripples that are so delicious. the last time I was there, I had fresh from the manyengranola with steamed milk and raw sugar. it was so good. it is a creative environment and often has live music. 3 it is a wonderful place.

This place seems to have fair trade coffee and tea, but no vegan food options as far as I can tell. They had savory crepes the were vegetarian but not vegan. I went in there looking for lunch, but left without eating due to the lack of vegan food options and the apathetic waitstaff. View menu

I traveled through the country and was happy to see a vegan friendly stop in la crosse. Unfortunately, this place has no vegan options unless they count coffee. not worth the branch of rt90. la crosse is a cool city, though and root note is hipster cool with good coffee, but I went away hungry.

love this place! recently moved into the opposite and reminds me of a place I suspended before my move to la crosse. the staff is very friendly, eating is great, and their drinks are fantastic! Not to mention the open microphone nights is a good opportunity to relax and enjoy some local music. look at this!

we loved our whole experience in this warm and cozy coffee wine bar! the two young women who worked there were so sweet and friendly. the crepes were delicious and fresh and our americano delicious! I wish we could have come back tonight for beer wine and perhaps also for trivia. only a great place! the next time we are in the city . . plus the mint for dinner! View menu

I stopped here twice on my visit to la crosse. the first time I had an amazing black bean chili. for the second time, to honor the catastrophic summit of helsinki, I had her cremilin crepe. they have a special dough for vegan crepes and added more sweet instead of egg and cheese. I'm not sure why there were so many negative reviews. this place is excellent. I will come back in definitiw.

I visited a friend in lacrosse and was excited to see that there were some vegan options in the city. Unfortunately, apart from their chili, they do not offer vegan options. each crepe had either egg, milk or ice and milk on it. I asked if they were vegan cheese and they did not have this option there is literally an eating coop down the street that Daiya vegan cheese sold. I could have ordered a cream without milk and ice, but it would have been a torn. next time we choose another option.
