"Honestly, I used to love this place. Their adobada was nice and crispy, great flavor. The past few times I’ve gone, I’ve been extremely disappointed. I overheard they’ve recently gotten a new cooks, and since then the portions on the adobada tacos have been ridiculously small. At first I thought it was an off night, but it’s been the same now for a couple of months. For $4 a taco, you’re better off spending your money elsewhere. Mar Y Tierra burrito also only had 3 shrimps inside, but plenty of cabbage and sauce. Just really not worth coming here anymore. Just charge more but give us good portions, instead of charging the same and giving out less"

They have the best steak here. It's very tender not overcooked. Everything is made fresh with homemade tortillas.

Small taco place, but flavor is good I chose this place base on reviews too. I ordered a burrito, which is say 100%angus beef . Burrito was good The only thing is meat needs more grill time for my taste . Also ordered a adobada is good . View menu

The food at this restaurant is fantastic. I especially enjoy the chipotle mild salsa and the salsa Verde. They serve the best adobada in North Park. For a unique option, I recommend trying the Volcan tacos. There is ample seating and the staff is wonderful. Don't forget to try the churros as well.

DON’T EAT HERE if you like dry, bland, mostly filler burritos. Do eat here if you want a burrito bursting at the seams with fresh, tender ingredients with spices and sauces bound in holy matrimony. The only reason the surf and turf burrito wouldn’t be my death row meal is it takes 3 minutes to eat it.

The only reason I don't come here is if the lines are crazy which is a great problem to have ! Other than that , their fresh pressed tortillas, the protein used plus toppings are great . No wonder they are Michelin recognized for their delicious tacos and burritos. If you haven't been yet , definitely go View menu

I absolutely adore this restaurant. It has a laid-back and relaxed atmosphere with incredibly fresh ingredients. While there are only a few taco places that rival it, the speed and convenience make it my top choice. I have been late for breakfast twice, but both times the staff were extremely accommodating and still made me the chorizo egg breakfast burrito. I am truly grateful for their flexibility and delicious food.

Great taco shop in the North Park! It gets very busy during lunch hour. The tacos are tasty and served on a hand made tortilla. I would recommend Sonora taco it is pieces of steak on a flour tortilla with cheese, beans and some pico de gallo. Fish tacos are decent but not the best. Loved the busy vibe of the place, and 3 cooks being able to handle all the incoming orders in such a small kitchen. Definitely masters of their trade!

"I adore this restaurant. Golden Hill is filled with many many quality eateries, and Counterpoint anchors the neighborhood with it's fun atmosphere and dedication to quality. They recently renovated and the new space is open, airy and provides a variety of seating options: bar seating, restaurant seating, and upper balcony (I use this as a quiet place to WFH during the week), and an outdoor patio. I'm partial to the biscuit and gravy for breakfast, but the brined chicken and waffles or breakfast hash always makes me smile and sends me unto the world with a better outlook on life and a doggie bag. When it's hot, delicious crunchy salads are on the lunch menu and the craft beers and unique slushy flavors change. Counterpoint takes the quality of food and libations seriously. The craft cocktails rotate as the bartenders are encouraged to explore and grow. The owner and team are always warm, welcoming and make sure you have a good experience. Did I mention they are DOG friendly? Definitely worth the trip up the hill from downtown if you're looking to wind down after an event or precharge and eat before a baseball game. I love to bring my friends for a snack (try the olive selection) and chat on a twilight night. Space heaters outside if you get cold. Fans inside if you get warm. Honestly if you live in or are visiting the 92102 area code you should go to Counterpoint: good food, really good cocktails, and great company. It is clear that this establishment cares about quality, cares about your comfort and loves if you have a good time."
