"My husband and I were vendors for the Steppin’ Out Street festival, and we basically ate every meal (both takeout and dining in) we could at Cabo! Best fish tacos we’ve ever had, best fried plaintains, best steak burrito we could go on and on. The chef is clearly a master of his craft. The manager even came to see how our meal was and we had a great conversation with her the staff are just as wonderful as the food! I wish we had them in our own town, but we’ll settle for coming every time we visit Blacksburg in the future. "We decided to order a mussel dish, but we were disappointed to receive only seven mussels, none of which opened. It's not really about whether they are safe to eat, but at an Italian restaurant, how are you supposed to open mussels in a pasta dish? To make matters worse, two of the mussels were cracked. My wife and I only noticed because a sharp, broken shell ended up in our pasta. After this experience, we’re likely to choose Olive Garden for our next outing. It was a disappointing night, especially for a local anniversary celebration. We tried to make the best of it, but the waitress didn't offer to compensate us in any way. What kind of restaurant serves cracked mussels and so many closed ones? I'm not a culinary expert, but that just isn’t acceptable. It’s a shame that this local spot didn’t meet our expectations."

"I've been wanting to visit this restaurant for quite some time, and on my previous attempts, the wait times were just a bit too long. However, I finally managed to stop by the last time I dropped my sibling off at VT. We ordered the fried chicken meal, and I chose cornbread while my husband opted for a biscuit. That biscuit was amazing—definitely one of the best I've had in ages! The chicken was delicious, and I was pleasantly surprised by the less common side dishes, like the succotash and green beans, both of which were flavorful. The mac and cheese was also quite good. We finished our meal with peach cobbler and ice cream, which was perfectly balanced and a fantastic way to end our dining experience. The owner was incredibly friendly and even took the time to chat with us. I also appreciated the lovely murals on the wall, which I believe his grandmother painted herself."

"I've always enjoyed NDBS's coffee, soups and baked goods. When I recently needed a very special dessert, on very short notice, I called all over the NRV, and only one place was willing and able to do it for me that day Next Door Bake Shop. Thanks for the amazing pie, and for the willingness to do it on such short notice you truly saved the day!!"

"Very unique concept and love the Cheese and Charcuterie Board! Baked Brie was fantastic. You have to try both. Large selection of wine, other alcoholic beverages were also available. I think Koch often changes the menu. Eating wasn't your average bar food, you wouldn't find it anywhere. Everyone from our group loved their sandwiches and salads. I wish there were more sandwich choices, six of eleven people ordered Chipotle Turkey Sandwich. Tomato soup had a good taste, but it was very thick, almost tasted like a fancy spaghetti sauce. No one interested themselves far away for the tinted seafood that was a large section on their menu. I'm curious how their sales were in tinted seafood. I'm sure some of them are delicious and rare to find, but it just didn't seem like a lunch. I'd try them if I was there with a friend to have some glasses of wine. Everything and everything, food was gourmet and affordable. I highly recommend this place."
