"I just moved to Philadelphia and was craving dim sum, but didn’t want to trek all the way to Chinatown. I found this place within walking distance, and have been eager to try it out. After reading some mixed reviews, I was a bit skeptical, but I’d recommend experiencing it for yourself, as others have suggested. I visited on a Sunday at 2:30 PM. There were a few tables occupied by a diverse mix of patrons, and thankfully, there was no wait. They had two carts going around, but most items are made to order, so freshness was not an issue. I tried the pork shumai, har gow, shrimp cheung fun, fried shrimp ball, and salt and pepper squid. These are all pretty standard selections. I would reorder everything except the har gow, but that’s just because I prefer the cheung fun. There were other dishes I wanted to try, but I had already ordered too much. My total came to just under $40, including tip, for five seafood-based dishes. I thought the service was good too. It was straightforward—no frills or fake smiles, just attentive when it mattered. After leaving me to enjoy my meal for about three minutes, they promptly asked if I needed boxes. I paid at the counter with my slip, left a tip, and was on my way. One of the perks is that they serve dim sum all day. While it might not be the best dim sum I’ve ever had, it was certainly good enough to make me want to come back, especially for the convenience. Plus, there’s no need to yell across the room for the carts or compete with other diners for servings. The hot oil they offer is excellent—spicier than what you usually find at other places, including Nom Wah. I even filled a sauce container to the brim for my leftovers. Is it an exceptional experience? No. But does it leave you feeling satisfied? Absolutely. That’s really all I want when it comes to food."

The food is nearly always excellent. While the decor is somewhat outdated, this remains our favorite dim sum place. Food rating: 5/5.

Great meal, fast service. Tried many different Dim Sum options, didn't have a single thing we didn't enjoy. Highly recommend the steamed pork bun!

Super fast service. They had a pretty good vegetarian selection that I was happy with. The food has a ton of fat and sugar, so you can’t eat very much, but what you can eat is delicious. View menu

The food here is always good, but one of the reasons I love coming back is the owner, Tom. He is always ready with a joke and a smile. He has a hidden stash of balloons for all the kids that comes into the restaurant and does not care that they are running around. He does make sure that they don't hurt themselves, but he understand kids. Eating there is like eating a family's house.Parking: Going there during the busy times is a mess. The supermarket usually draws the crowd.

I am convinced that this restaurant serves either spoiled or contaminated food because everyone at our table has been dealing with diarrhea for days. I'm not sure if it's due to one person who never washes his hands or the food itself, but I strongly advise against eating here unless you want to suffer through repeated bouts of diarrhea and lose hydration for the sake of bland dishes. It's no surprise that the place isn't crowded; it seems like they serve food that has gone bad to their customers. On a positive note, our server was very pleasant—welcoming and seemingly the owner. While the service was good, the food was tasteless and could potentially make you sick. I do not recommend this p... View menu

We had a rather unfortunate experience that ruined the meal and tainted my opinion on the restaurant. Halfway through our meal, I needed to use the restroom. When I opened the door to the woman's room and stepped in, my foot was immediately greeted by a splash. One of the toilets overflowed, making the bathroom completed flooded with an inch of water with either dirt or feces floating around. When I told our server, she seemed to not care at all. I then tried the men's room. Well, the drain must have clogged which caused flooding in there as well, so the only stall was also filled with dirty water! I was unable to use the restroom, even to wash my hands, and I stepped in the disgusting water...
