"I just have one word that describes my experience here. WOW It was an absolute experience coming here. We were in town for my birthday and decided to eat here for my bday dinner/last night in Charleston. The vibe and atmosphere were classy, fun, and calming. They have a main bar area where you can grab a drink while you wait for a table and can be quite lively later in the evening. The dining rooms are towards the back, a lot quieter and more intimate so has a flavor for whatever you are into. The service was absolutely perfect. Our server (I wish I would have gotten her name she served our party of two at 10pm on Saturday 8/17) was so insanely friendly and personable. She knew her stuff and then some when it came to presenting the menu, but also would come chat with us and give us tips and recs for Charleston as she knew we were from out of town. They also gave us a free cheesecake and glasses of champagne on the house for our celebration. Just overall made us feel incredibly special and welcomed (we don't normally eat at places like this lol). The food, omg.....I am not overstating or being hyperbolic.......this was hands down without a doubt the greatest steak I have ever had in my life. Nothing even comes close. I had the Dry Aged Ribeye, and it has completely ruined steak for me because nothing will ever be that good. My girlfriend got the Filet, and it was in the same ballpark. Just legendary. We also got a side of the lobster Mac Cheese and it was fluffy with a perfect crust on top. Amazing flavor and texture. If you ever have the opportunity to dine, do yourself a favor and go. This was one of the best dinner experiences I have ever had. Thank you for making it a wonderful experience to the wait staff, the chef, servers, everyone there played a part and gave me a memory I will hold onto forever. Thank you!!"

"We had an incredible meal at Circa 1886. This was our first time visiting Charleston and we wanted to find elevated food. Tasting menus are one of our favorite ways to experience many refined plates all at once. Circa 1886 has not one, but two tasting menus you can choose from. We got one of each and split all of the dishes. Don 't be thrown off by the small portion sizes because we both left incredibly full. All together it was over 10 plates! The flavors of each dish are complex, balanced, and well thought out. The tasting menu is a flavorful journey, and each bite a carefully crafted experience in your mouth. The menu is seasonally rotating, so there will always be something new to try. Our server was the bartender, Denis, who takes his job seriously. He is professional, knowledgeable, and has a great sense of humor. One of my favorite things to see at a restaurant is when the entire team is helping to create a great experience for customers. It is not just one server, but a team of people, like a well oiled machine, and all of them are knowledgeable about the menu and the food they 're serving. This restaurant serves with pride. If you are looking to experience high level food done with passion, look no further."

"I've done all 30, and that's the only reason I've been gone for so long. Tonight, my fiancée surprised me at one night, so I knew I had to have my day of fraud in Edison. We had the Valentine who meant one of everything and one bottle of wine. Taxes and tips were included and this could not have been a better offer for the amount of food we have consumed. And our waiter, Cody, was fantastic. Extremely attentive and ensured that we always had a complete glass of wine (this first of course). As far as food is concerned, Joel, you have mastered such an art to deliver surprise after surprise. Each course we had was better than the last and better than any time we were in Edison. Chelsea, your hostess was beautiful and it's always great to see you. It always feels like home when we walk in the door. Erin and John, like the friends that let you in their home and let you open and eat from their refrigerator without asking. This kind of friend. Thanks for everything you do. Please stop, you're my favorite."

"I can't say enough about Crosby, but I'll do my best to blame them. First and foremost, the quality of seafood they offer is phenomenal, with their selection fluctuating on the basis of boats. From fillet to whole fish, mussels to shrimps you can create a feast for a king. In a week I enjoyed: mussels, shells, shrimps (they were huge! , scallops, groupers, halibut, wahoo, Snapper, mahi mahi, Jacks, and a few more. It's amazing. Secondly, customer service is fantastic. Whether cutting a small piece, discuss different preparation ideas, or inform what the boat will bring later, they treat you like a friend, not just a customer. My review doesn't make them fair, but be assured: you won't be disappointed by their quality, choice or service of seafood."

"I'll start and end with good. The food is excellent. The biscuits were amazing. The chicken was fried just right. I'm not sure if I'd go back.Two things that put a damper on the visit... The temperature... It was so cold inside. We had to put our coats back on. Our noses started running. Finger tips were freezing. I was tempted to go back and order coffee just to warm up. We did ask to turn the heat up, they said they could not. Second thing... They took everyone's name as if they respected them enough to call an actual name. For my husband and i, they put wait... So we're listening for about 20 minutes waiting for our name and nothing. When our food was ready they said order for wait. Order for wait. Come to think of it, that alone may stop me from going back. I hope it wasn't what I thought it was. Ugh. Lastly, the orange juice is fresh and made right in front of you. It is delicious. So if you don't mind being cold, it's good breakfast."

"This place boasts a fantastic selection of books, along with a cute little children's area filled with blocks and a small table. The coffee station is somewhat tucked away and has its own seating area. While the coffee was decent, I wasn't a fan of the to-go cups. I noticed many people ordering lattes, so they might be worth trying instead of the cappuccino I had. We also tried the tiramisu, which was surprisingly delicious! It seems like a great spot to curl up with a good book or to pick up a gift. I just wish we had more time to explore!"

"We came to Peninsula Grill for my wife and her Mom’s birthday. (both on the same day) The hostess was sweet and greeted us and asked “whose birthday it was?” And was so excited when we told her we had two birthdays! She typed it into the computer, and we were seated, and received drinks. We then waited around 40 minutes for bread. We were surprised to see multiple couples and groups who arrived after us receiving their entrees, and ended up waiting around an hour and 30 minutes for ours. We were not checked on by our waiter, and received dinner without an opportunity to order additional drinks AND we had waters empty. At this point, we were a little frustrated. The food was great, but our service was next to nothing and our waiter was surprised when we didn’t want to order any dessert, having been sitting there for near on 2 hours at this point. The phrase that we kept feeling was that we were not prioritized, even with two birthdays seated at the table. We were surprised at the low level of service we received as we’ve heard great things, but unfortunately we will not be recommending or coming back to Peninsula Grill ever again."

"This is a really intimate little restaurant. I love that they offered you a glass of wine instantly before you were even in your seat. The wait staff is superb, and you basically get a private waiter for the duration of your meal. The courses moved pretty fast, so if you 're doing the wine pairing, you better drink up quick or you 'll have a glass poured and waiting in the wings. The best bites were the first offerings. There were three snacks up first that were excellent. The best dish was like a pasta made of finely cut squid... the broth was amazing. The heartiest course was duck, and unfortunately, it was pretty underwhelming. The dessert was fine, but not overly memorable. It 's expensive, but a unique meal."

"Our group of five, all from out of town and ethnically diverse, had a disappointing experience at High Cotton. While the she-crab soup and appetizers were promising, the meal took a turn quickly. The swordfish, which our waitress recommended as the catch of the day, was dry and overcooked. We would have addressed this if given the chance, but our waitress didn’t return to check on us in a timely manner. We were also disheartened by the service from the lead manager, an older gentleman with slicked-back blonde hair. He barely acknowledged our table and was noticeably more attentive to a large group of older white diners nearby. This disparity in service made us feel neglected and undervalued. For a meal costing $100 per head, we expected a far superior experience. Our visit fell short of the high standards we anticipated, and we hope High Cotton takes this feedback seriously to ensure all guests (regardless of their background) receive equal and respectful service."

"Ok, so we had high expectations coming in. This place is very hyped up. We managed to snag last minute reservations for 530pm on a Monday. We were very impressed with the service. Very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. It was our babymoon, and the menu itself said Happy babymoon , which was a special touch. Food wise, we 're giving Husk 3/5 stars because it really didn 't knock our socks off. In fact, we only liked 3 out of the 5 dishes we ordered. Out of those, we only really highly recommend 1. Here 's what we got, starting with the dishes we liked the best: #1: Broadbent country ham, buttermilk biscuits, husk pickles, lusty monk mustard YUM. Like a southern charcuterie board, as it was described by our server. #2: Cornmeal fried catfish, white cheddar grits, collard greens this was really good too, but not something I would feel compelled to order again. The catfish by itself was okay, but a bite with the catfish, grits, and collard greens together was wonderful! #3: Sweet potato bread pudding with toasted marshmallow too sweet for me, but my husband really liked it. #4: Lamb dumplings, okra, chermulah honey yogurt, pecan dukkah did not like these, and they weren 't particularly hot when they came out. Strange because this one came highly recommended by our server. #5: Hearth baked skillet cornbread, broadbent 's bacon crumble how could this not be good???? But it really wasn 't. It was dry and had very little flavor. We didn 't finish this, which is very unlike us."

"Everything was fantastic! We were looking to try a new restaurant, and I craved seafood. Rappahannock exceeded our expectations. The scallops were the best I've had in ages. We also enjoyed mussels from the happy hour menu and a dozen oysters! I ordered the peach tea cocktail, which was perfect for a hot day. I will definitely return and highly recommend this place! "We have previously dined at Grill 225 and had an excellent experience; however, this meal was extremely disappointing! The server was excellent. The saffron steam mussels were over seasoned and extremely salty, but edible. We notified the server and he said he would let the chef know fine! The Lamb chops arrived we were so excited for good lamb! We were disappointed as they were super fatty and were inedible. Again we notified the server and asked to speak with a manager. We spoke with someone whom we were told was a manager who with our knowledge deducted the cost of the lamb chops (these were $78 $l0 more than a USDA prime fillet! this was al a carte all sides were additional! We have reached out to the hotel and company as a whole but have had no response to date! We can't believe the lack of response from the establishment. We were not looking for a refund it was our our last night in Charleston and we were expecting an unbelievable meal from this restaurant!"

"Fig is an OG of the Charleston foodie scene and a bar for which all others are judged. Went nearly a decade ago and remember nothing. Not sure how much has changed but doesn’t matter. Worth going! Started with the Tom tini a martini made with tomatoes which sounds odd and it serves bright pink. Ultra smooth, and the tomato effect ads an Umami quality. starters the ricotta gnocchi and the tomato tarte. Both if these items we were referred by multiple people and the server. The gnocchi is cloud like light and fluffy, yet rich. Indulgent. The tomato tarte tastes nothing of how it looks. Its incredibly savory and smooth. The puff pastry underneath delivers an oh so satisfying crunch. Mains Flounder and chicken. Flounder had a brioche crust on top and was a very light, delicate dish. My wife hates seafood and she demanded to trade plates for this and finished every bite. That in of itself tells you this is an exquisitely executed fish dish. The chicken is finished in a hearty broth topped with tomato. Ive never had such a “hearty” chicken dish. Side of mash this is must. Dessert sorghum pudding that eats like a sticky toffee pudding All in all, Fig doesn’t have the “pizzaz” of some newer spots but it remains the bar for which all others are to be judged. That probably wont change anytime soon."

"Amazing menu with a large selection of bourbon. We visited for dinner on a Friday night. We had reservations but the restaurant did not appear overly busy despite it being prime dinner hours. For drinks I had the Caramel Apple Martini (yum! and my husband had a Bourbon flight. For starters we tried the Bruschetta. The Bruschetta had good flavors the house made bourbon balsamic reduction glaze really was amazing, but I thought the bread was too hard to bite through. For dinner my husband had the 10oz Sirloin with Roasted Red Potatoes and I had the Prime Rib on a toasted baguette with Onion Rings. All the food was delicious. The bread used for the prime rib was perfect for the sandwich and for dipping. And the kale pesto with the roasted red potatoes was an unexpected surprise. Service was friendly though a little slow."

"I had my heart set on dining at Slightly North of Broad (SNOB) long before I even landed in Charleston, South Carolina, and it did not disappoint. The name alone caught my attention, with its clever acronym, but it was the menu, particularly the roasted duck breast, that truly made this restaurant a must-visit for me. I traveled all the way from Folsom, California, and the duck was absolutely worth the journey across the country—perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The atmosphere was just beautiful, providing a warm and welcoming dining experience. The service was equally outstanding, with staff who were not only attentive but also very accommodating to my dietary restrictions. Being allergic to gluten, corn, and tomatoes can make dining out challenging, but SNOB handled it with ease. While they didn’t have a specific gluten-free roll, they kindly offered a gluten-free bun, toasted to perfection, which completed my meal in the best way possible. Even without the gluten-free bread accommodations, I would have been thrilled with my meal. The roasted duck alone made the trip worthwhile, but the exceptional service and atmosphere elevated the entire experience. I highly recommend SNOB for anyone visiting Charleston—it’s an unforgettable dining experience that you simply can’t go wrong with."

"we could get a last minute reservation for lunch and we are so glad we did. my man and I were in charleston to celebrate our jubilee celebration and that was one of the best places where we divorced. we shared the cold blue crab dip, the she craab suppe and the crab cake. every dish was delicious! our service was great and we sat before our actual reservation. I am of md and I am picky over crab cake and the crab cake at fleet’s land had so much crumb meat in them and hardly a filer. I will come back when we return to charleston and I will recommend this place to my friends."
