"Disappointed. The tortillas were all board stiff all around. The beans were cooked way too long and tasted like water. They literally melted in your mouth and not in a good way. The mac n cheese was basically a thick cheese soup with a few overcooked noodles. Chicken was cold. Looked like it was sitting all day and they just warmed it up. I usually do not write reviews, negative ones at that. But I am highly disappointed with the quality of the food. Sad to say, I will never order from this establishment again. Save your money."

"The chicken pieces were small and overcooked. I ordered the meal that includes a breast and a wing, but the wing was severely battered, and the breast was cut in half. Who would expect to receive half a breast? The broccoli and potatoes I chose as sides were decent, but nothing extraordinary. Drinks are an additional $3, and considering how dry the chicken was, I felt like I really needed one just to help swallow it. It was scorching outside, so I figured I’d go inside to cool off with some air conditioning, but it seemed like the AC was either broken or turned off; it was surprisingly warm inside."

"When I asked for the side I originally wanted, the cashier was rude and told me to read my coupon. I responded that it's his responsibility to inform me of what was included in my order. Unfortunately, his customer service skills were lacking. He told me to wait and didn’t even ask for my side order. It would have been simple for him to just get my side and resolve the issue quickly. Clearly, more training in customer service is necessary for the staff. On a positive note, the manager was courteous and acknowledged that the cashier had mishandled the situation."

"I couldn't get the wings I wanted, so I settled for a 2-piece meal. The chicken was undercooked compared to what I am used to, but it wasn't pink inside so it should be safe to eat. However, the taste was not very satisfying. Unfortunately, we couldn't find a clean table and had to settle for the least dirty one available. We stayed for about an hour and noticed that the restaurant wasn't very busy, yet none of the tables were wiped down during our visit. When we left, the employees were just standing behind the counter chatting and the restroom needed attention. I don't think I'll be returning to this restaurant."

"The last time I visited to El Pollo Loco was abysmal. (See my review El Polo Loco on Countryside Dr Turlock) Tonight was redemption. There street tacos were delicious and the service was excellent. We used a coupon to try their new street tacos plate. Two tacos with rice and beans. We got the Elote Taco and the Avocado taco. They were bomb! The rice and beans were a tasty side dish, after we doctored them with cilantro, lime, and salsa. Originally the rice was a skimpy amount (See picture) and as I was finishing at the salsa bar the young lady at the counter gave me an additional cup of rice. She identified the short coming and took the initiative to correct it. Great Job! There were several employees on shift (11) the facilities were as clean as to be expected. Negative: There was a dried piece of chicken under out table that appeared to have been there for some time though."

"Me my family visited pollo loco back in July of 2022 where we all got different plates. My youngest is one years old, my middle child is 6 oldest is 8. My family contracted the Campylobacter bacteria from the restaurants raw poultry they servedus. A month later a friend visits and receives a whole nacho plate with pink slimy, veiny chicken. BE VERY AWARE AND CHECK YOURPOULTRY the bacteria left my family in weeks of pain and constant bathroom uses. We all lost a lot of weight and we ended upvery dehydrated. Antibiotic therapy was needed to pass the bacteria it did not just go away on its own. Pollo loco, you servedus raw poultry but what bothers me more is that a month later your still feeding our community raw food! Some children elderlyare not strong enough to take on this bacteria. It?ll be a matter of time before you guys infect a weakened immune system personwho will unfortunately not be able to handle the bacteria due to the stress of dehydration and diarrhea."

"As a Type 1 diabetic, I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. I ordered Coke Zero Sugar but received regular full-sugar Coke by mistake, which is exactly why I typically avoid ordering sodas and always carry sugar test strips with me. Unfortunately, I had to throw the drink away. The coleslaw was unappealing—watery and not fresh—while the pinto beans were also lacking in flavor. On a brighter note, the chicken and broccoli were quite good!"

"I highly recommend Marco for his friendliness and efficiency. The two delicious chicken avocado tacos he prepared for me were exceptional, truly setting him apart from the rest. I visited today and ordered these tacos after a client from my salon specifically recommended them. When I asked Marco if he was a manager, he told me he wasn’t yet, but he’s working towards that goal. "I went to pick up some food, and I noticed they had large containers for the soup, but I ended up with two small ones instead. I saved one for work the next day, but little did I know it had gone bad! Everything was in the bag, but when I grabbed it, the whole soup spilled out. Thankfully, I managed to grab some chicken and corn for my lunch! Next time, I’ll make sure to pick it up myself. Maybe they’ll notice if a container is leaking next time. They were really busy, though!"

"The customer service at this restaurant is quite disappointing. Some of the staff members are rude and unprofessional, and they never greet customers, instead just staring. They seem to do very little, either walking around aimlessly or moving at a sluggish pace, which is amusing in a frustrating way. I truly wonder who hired them. The last time I visited for takeout, I asked a man wearing a headset for assistance. He told me to wait a moment, but he was actually available and simply didn't seem to care. After five minutes, a woman finally stepped in to help me. Overall, it was a very unprofessional experience."

"I really love el pollo loco, but whoever they hired recently is awful. I have gotten food from here a few times and the food is always made wrong, doesn't follow instructions and it's clearly old food that has been sitting for a WHILE. My tacos are hard and stale and so are my churros, it's like the tacos were on a heating lamp for over an hour and the churros were just left out. It was barely warm. I'm going to start eating at a diff location because this is the 5th time my food from this location has been a waste of money. Please hire people who care."

"What do you want me to say? this place is more expensive than kfc, but for me the spicy guacamole sauce makes it worth it. Today I tried double avaocado chicken dish and red sauce tamal. at $3 a tamal I have to say that I was a little disappointed. the tamale was dry and not enough meat for the price. the masa had a good taste, so that's a plus. the chicken dish was delicious. the meat, beef, rice and avocado had great taste. highly recommended."

"Something about bad service leaves a bad taste in my mouth. When you enter, they ignore you for a while. If they don't like you, they eye you like you're their least favorite person in the world. No one really wants to talk to you. Clearly they'rethere for their paycheck. Upon arriving and claiming my order, she took her time confirming and then took my soda around acorner out of my sight. "Visited this evening in drive thru. Asked a few questions about the menu and the order taker had no knowledge, did not repeat the order, pulled forward and paid. Once given my food it was incomplete asked for the rest of the order and the girl at thewindow was very rude and confrontational. Said I did not order the rest of my food, pointed at their screen and stated it wasn'tordered instead of apologizing for the mix up. Had her mask pulled down smirking and more concerned with the conversation andplaying around with another employee. Very unprofessional!"
