"*Celiacs Safety Within*While this is not a gluten free kitchen, this restaurant does it 's best to reduce cross contamination and have options on the menu that are not only celiac-friendly, but also delicious.Value: Great bang for the buckSummary:Flower Child is a great Counter Service style operation. The menu as very clear and they have simple, yet delicious options. I have had things I loved, and things that I liked less. But, I have never eaten anything bad. Staff is friendly, and the atmosphere isinviting and social. This is an encellent place to grab a meal without stretching your wallet.Food: Comes out quickly and is delicious. With a rotating menu, it 's hard to keep up all the time. But my favorites are: Steak, GF Mac and Cheese, Queso , and the green beansService: Prompt and friendly. Marked it down one star for one encounter regarding chips portion . We had way more queso than the portion of chips that we were given. When we asked for more chips, the staff member told us that we would have to pay for them and walked away. We wanted to finish the queso since it is one of our fav dishes. When I went to the counter to order, the friendly cashier said I 'll just go grab you some more. Which we found to be a very customer service driven approach. But other than this small infraction, every step of service is great!.This is going to be a staple of places I go to eat out. Couldn 't recommend it more!."

"I really wanted to love flower child finally, with such cute decoration, an amazing menu of healthy options (including lots of vegetable options,) and a charming name, this place seemed to tickle all boxes. while the inside of the restaurant was actually beautifully decorated, eating left much to be desired. I ordered her chopped vegetables salad with tofu and it was all very...average despite the flu of vegetables that the menu said the salat should have, it was definitiw very salat forward the other toppings were all stacked on top (and, even so, still saw pretty badluster) and the entire floor 3/4 of the salats was simply salat. the tofu was also quite bland. it was marinated, but it felt like the marinade just about 0.1 millimeter of tofu penetrated, and the rest of the disc had very little taste. Although $14 is a fairly average price for an salat in dc to pay, it felt much overprice for what was in the round a bowl salat and unseasoned tofu. which disturbed me most about the experience, however, was that not everything was fresh I found several pieces of devastated salat (of which some had become yellow, some of which were completely torn into a rotten slime) and two of the very few snowbows they provided had mold on them. I don't make a Bland salad, but I'm making an salate from the head that has the potential to make me sick. everything in all was flower child cute, but really did not live until hype. I could try one of their bowls if I have to come back, but honestly, I was quite disappointed by the overall experience and I will probably try to avoid coming back here."

"Arrived to hostess on the 800° side to seat party of 5 at circular dining table. Was given a list of specials. Ordered 3 of the Jameson “mule” cocktails with no price listed. The drinks were extremely watery, bland, and in a small glass. Our server offered us splashes of pineapple, juice, lemon juice, and cranberry juice, which did not help the flavor. It wasn’t until later, after asking a question about the bill the server told us the Jameson-which was supposed to be in the cocktail was out of stock and the bartender substituted Chivas regal, which is not something I would have wanted mixed with experimental syrups and not given the option to switch or cancel the order. Considering the 3 cocktails were $72, I felt the staff was inconsiderate and most bartenders will let you know if spirits are unavailable before they sold you something else. The food and quality was good although the portions were small on many of the dishes. The burger was good, truffle fries, well cooked and tasty. The crabcakes seem to be made with fresh ingredients, but very tiny portion of accompaniments for the nearly $60 price tag for just the cakes. The filet mignon came well done when we asked for medium rare, so we insisted that it be remade, considering the price and the occasion. The meatballs were excellent, the steak Frites were good, and probably the best value. The carpaccio was weak due to the tiny amount of fish that was used and the pickled and umami flavors of the veggies and topping overpowered it to hide lack of fish. Good idea and concept but poor execution and not good quality. We had to ask several times to get water refills for the children since cocktail glasses were used they would finish quickly and only got refills 90 minutes into our visit. "

"Buttercup had a Dr's appointment in Newport Beach and I discovered Flower Child when we left McArthur and we had to eat there after the appointment. After we checked the menu, we both wanted the same as the Mother Earth. Antique grains, sweet potatoes, Portobello mushroom, avocado, cucumber, broccoli pesto, carburized onion, leaf green, red paprika vinaigrette, hemp seeds with tofu as protia. We called in our order and were told for 10 minutes what I love, how fast it was. When I picked up the food, I was greeted by a very friendly staff and was simply blown away from all the fresh ingredients that were suggested as the tomatoes were beautiful! She asked me if I wanted a drink or something else, I refused that she processed my payment and how she did it, so I immediately regretted this decision as on the table behind her was Rose petal Lemonade!!! I knew I had to, and I said I was sorry not to see it earlier. I gave her my card back and ordered the drink, and she told me not to worry about me having you. That made my day and created a loyal customer who will return. The lemonade was sweet and I'm glad I only have 1 to share, but it was so good! We come home and our bowls are beautiful, portions are generous, but not above the top. There was a good proportion of cereals, avocado in terms of tofu and greens, etc. For my taste the grains or a little bit salty, but Buttercup didn't feel the same. It was probably just my preference for low cooking. The whole experience was excellent and the food was fresh and very good. Updated by previous review on 2020 07 09"
