"10/23 Incredible Lobster Cobb Salad with the option now of steamed lobster, The Angry Queen Bee fried chicken sandwich with brie, bacon and honey is unbelievable the pierogies deliver. Sunny meal outside. 9/23 Really nicely done fried cod with fries and coleslaw, more cheesesteak spring rolls, matzo ball soup chicken salad on rye. Enjoyed the deck seating. 8/2023 Excellent food. The matzo ball soup was perfect this time with the right salt and celery balance. The tuna salad on untoasted rye was so good. Loved the cheesesteak spring rolls. Exceptional in this category. My partner chose the Monday hamburger special and ate every bite. Bringing their pierogies chicken salad sandwich to a family member, she asked where did you get this beautiful food? Dish N Dat! Returning Jan '22 the food, service and oldies music is still fun. Chef 's special menu changes. The fried Lobster salad is perfectly well balanced in terms of all its components. The hard boiled egg was cooked to perfection. The yolk had no hint of grey of an overcooked egg, nor did it have a hint of dark yellow in the center of an undercooked egg. There was a perfect fan on the avocado slices. The bacon accompanying the salad was crispy and provided crunch to the greens. Red onion gave the right heat and cherry tomatoes blended it all together. House dill dressing was fresh and creamy. I 'd prefer the option of lobster fried or right from the shell. Still, a fine salad. Lunch included lime apple margaritas, two quesadillas, matzo ball soup, a chicken salad sandwich ground beef tacos. This batch of soup was too salty and had more celery than needed. The chicken salad sandwich was good sized on toasted rye with large pieces of breast with a mayo/grape/celery dressing on top. The taco menu item is overpriced when two more quesadillas $4. each on Tuesdays would have been a better buy. Visiting Dish N Dat two days in a row, the food, service, atmosphere and retro fifties/sixties music make dining here a pleasant experience. Our first meal on a Tuesday, we were pleased to find the house margarita was on special this day for $3.00! Salt or sugar rim. Three flavors. Good pour. Also on special, quesadillas were $4.00 with beef, pork or chicken. My partner got one of each. All were well seasoned and portioned. Wings had a good size. The lobster sandwich on a grilled roll with arugula $22.00. was pricier than some, but still a treat. I liked the chef grilled the inside of the bun and left the outside as is. Bread right out of the bag always disappoints. The Chef adds arugula, which to me is a bitter green, so it detracts more than compliments the sweet lobster. For our second lunch, it was great to find a place in CT that serves matzo ball soup. It 's delicious and is proudly the owner 's grandma 's recipe. So healthy, I asked him if anyone in his family ever got sick. Never! he said. The soup and sandwich combo offers tuna, chicken salad or grilled cheese. The tuna was creamy with good flavor. The rodeo burger, like all their burgers, is a half pound and served, pink, no pink or killed. The latter, our waitress said, was a hockey puck. My partner ordered no pink, and that 's how it was served, with big crispy fried onions, bacon, cheese and BBQ sauce. The French fries that came with his burger were preferable to the ones I had with my lobster roll. More uniform in cut and size, crispier and better seasoned. Our waitress said we had a different cook this day than from our first lunch of their two chefs. She added that regulars will call and ask who 's cooking today, as they both have their fans. The owner, noting our return, treated us to his Maryland crab tots. Warm and crunchy with true crab interiors, we could see why they 're popular. The red house sangria was ample with fruit and had a nice portion of wine. The owner also owns Sorella 's in Hartford, and Tavern at Keney Park in Windsor. (See my reviews/photos) Dis N Dat is kids friendly and a fun spot for a family, but adult couples on a casual outing will enjoy dining here, too."

"Stopped by tonight for the first time for dinner. The service was fine but wasn 't too impressed with the food. I ordered Brian 's Peppercorn Sirloin on the recommendation of staff and a small Gary 's salad. The pears were canned and not great in a salad and the candied pecans were far too sweet with all the other sweetness going on in my opinion. The size of the salad was pretty good for a side, however. As for the steak, while cooked properly, the mushrooms and onions weren 't sauteed at all and were pretty much raw. This and a sauce that reminded me way too much of Salisbury Steak Sauce ruined what might have been an otherwise acceptable cut of meat. The garlic mashed potatoes were acceptable but weren 't served hot. The sauteed veggies that came with were ok. My wife ordered a beyond burger which satisfied her, but also was topped with sauteed onions that were essentially raw. The onion rings may have been the best part of the night, hot, fresh and whole rings of onion inside. ______ Reply to owner: Canned pears and super sweet pecans might be for some people, maybe even most, but it wasn 't for me. Serving raw onions and mushrooms on top of a steak and burger isn 't a matter of preference, it shows that the person preparing the food either doesn 't know what they 're doing behind the grill or just doesn 't care. I don 't even know what to say about the Beyond Burger comment, it 's on your menu and my wife is a vegetarian. It 's not just fair game, but the only reason we came to the restaurant in the first place. If a manager had come by and asked how things were, I would have let them know. I provided my opinion based on my experience, I 'm sorry you don 't like my opinions, but I don 't apologise for either having them nor for sharing them on a review site. When I read other people 's dining reviews I want to know what to eat and what to steer clear of. There 's a million places to eat dinner at, but you only have 1 chance to make a great first impression. Unfortunately this one fell less than great."

"Hello, I’ll start by saying this, we were seated promptly we had bread and water promptly. That’s the good. We had to ask three different servers for butter and plates. We did not have the typical dinner memo or the New Years menu, instead we had the lunch menus on our table. We asked for a dinner menu and received the New Years menu. Why weren’t we offer the typical dinner menu? We proceeded to order two appetizers which we only received one. Server never wrote other appetizer down. We were given three meatballs due to the long wait for the entree’s. As were about to enjoy them, the waiter quickly removed them off the table and said they weren’t for us and removed them. We ordered from the New Years menu as we were not even asked if we wanted the typical dinner menu. Entree’s were mediocre at best, I never ordered onion straws but they came with our entree’s The manger never walked around to ask how everything was. The server then proceeded to tell us his life story for the remainder of our night. Waiter asked if we were ready for dessert when we hadn’t ate half our dinner. We decided not to order dessert. The waiter then took it on his own to bring us two small chocolate balls with cinnamon coating and to top it off, the waiter brought us a to go container of peanut butter. This was by far the worst New Years dinner we have ever had. I personally do not think this restaurant was ready for this type of evening. All the wait staff seems to be running around and not getting any properly done. Obviously we will not return. I just hope no one else ever has to endure this type of experience at this restaurant.."
