"There are not many still open in the St Louis market, most had poor customer service. This location is a bright shining star. Our waitress today was awesome, the food was served quickly, and she was very attentive without being overly so. If all the locations had service like this, they would still be open. "I absolutely love Steak 'n Shake! They consistently serve high-quality, delicious food at a great price. My only wish is that they had more locations so that even more people could enjoy their fantastic offerings. Whenever I walk into Steak 'n Shake, I feel like I've been transported back in time thanks to their classic interior design. It adds a wonderful touch to the overall dining experience. The burgers, which are a highlight of their menu, are still made the same way they were 50 years ago, showcasing their commitment to tradition and quality. One of the highlights of our trips to and from Las Vegas is always stopping at the Victorville location, which has become a cherished ritual for us. On my recent visit, I decided to change things up and opted for a cup of their chili instead of the usual fries. It was a delightful surprise—rich in flavor and perfectly seasoned. It's these small yet significant experiences, coupled with the nostalgic atmosphere, that keep me returning for more."

"DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT! If you park in their lot your car will 99% get TOWED! They had hidden signs in the parking lot you won’t see until it’s too late believe me! Me and my friends attended here parking by the restaurant because we were going to the haunted house right next door after being instructed we could park here, we were going to attend the restaurant anyways afterwards. Came back and our car was towed! Signs are posted facing away and not where you will see them by where you’re parking. There are people that sit in this parking lot in their cars or the shadows and watch you leave your car and hook it up instantly and tow it. If you call them out on it they will threaten to beat you up and harass you. They’re scammers and it’s a scammy business, not to mention the place they tow the car to is not even on Google maps, and when we did locate it, it was 33 minute walk, or 10 minute drive so we had to get an Uber. The towing place is sketchy with a little peep hole to give them the money and your ID, the glass is blurred so they are obviously trying to high who they are. GOING TO THIS RESTAURANT IS NOT WORTH IT IF YOU’RE GOING TO BE TOWED! Read the reviews on yelp of Vics Towing Company, they don’t care if you have a receipt to this restaurant they still tow and make you pay. And also damage your car. BE AWARE! "I was surprised to discover that Steak 'n Shake no longer has waitstaff. When a group of six of us went in for dinner, I had to place the orders myself for everyone. They no longer offer malts, salads were unavailable, the pepper juice bottles on the tables were missing, and there was no cherry Coke flavoring. The steak burgers were overly seasoned, and the hamburger buns were disappointing. Overall, my experience was far from satisfactory, and I can’t see myself returning. I pride myself on being honest in my restaurant reviews."

"While the pizza here was fabulous, the service was incredibly poor the night we went. We sat for over 25 minutes waiting for a server to come to our table despite telling three different employees that we had not been served yet. Another server finally came to help. We started by ordering a beer and were told that our real server would bring us the drinks. Then there seemed to be confusion about who could pour my beer as the server was underage, so another 20 minutes before that arrived. It was a good thing we weren’t in a hurry, as the entire dining experience took over 2 hours! And we didn’t even order an appetizer or dessert! On the positive side, I hope this was an anomaly. The pizza was great. The atmosphere was really nice. And the servers were kind."

"During our visit to another restaurant, we found ourselves just across the street from Shoops. The exterior is quite plain and unremarkable, but the interior is impressively inviting and well-maintained. To our surprise, it was also quite popular. They offer counter service as well. The hamburgers are pressed on the griddle, giving them a delicious crispy edge. This small chain from Northwest Indiana is definitely worth a visit. While I wasn’t as drawn to its other locations, this one proved to be perfect for a satisfying meal."

"Hit or miss but generally good, especially considering a lot of the menu is more affordable than most places. I’ve received cold or soggy fries a few times. Some good items are gone- mocha milkshakes, patty melts, and hot fudge sundaes ? Several months ago I ordered chicken strips and at the window I asked for ranch dressing dip. The employee said it cost extra. ?? On previous visits it wasn’t. Not a big deal, just the idea of being told a different story than a week before and then them acting like there was always a charge."

"Me and my wife went here for lunch on Good Friday and there was a sign at the front stating that they were short handed so please be patient with the staff. We thought that might be a problem but we were seated quickly, got our order in quickly and got our food very quick too. The food was very good and the price was even better. We have had food service problems here in the past with a full staff working so this was a pleasant surprise. Our waitress Jacqueline was very nice, attentive and was working very hard as well."

"I have always had a fondness for Steak 'n Shake. It was a beloved treat of mine when I was a child many years ago. This particular location is very convenient for travelers on US 63 and Interstate 70. Every time I have visited, the restaurant has been clean and the staff have been helpful. The food is consistently of good quality, just as you would expect. They still serve their signature steak burgers, thin french fries, and have a wide variety of shakes and freezes on their menu. The dining area has a retro 1950s feel, just like all of their locations."

"Not great. We order and wait 10-15 minutes for drinks. Food lasted 35 minutes. Our waitress never came back to ask if we need anything. At the end of my meal I had to finish my meal with my mothers water, as we were never asked if refills on drinks were necessary. Ketchup bottle was empty. I had to fly another waitress to get a new one. We wanted to shake. At first, my son caught her with his Shake request, then my daughter then even every request the waitress brought a new bill.. Instead of holding to the table on the first request and asking if someone else wants to order something she just brought us past. The food was great. The service was very disappointing."

"Stopped in before a concert one night and it was fabulous super fast and friendly service, equally impressive food! Burgers were cooked to perfection and paired perfectly with a milkshake. "This is a pretty good little hidden gem. If you're in the mood for Chinese food and a burger, this is the spot for you. They offer a variety of options, including Thai, Chinese, and classic American dishes. I definitely plan to come back for more. As for the Pad Thai, it was decent. While it could have used a bit more umami, it still had some of the delightful flavors you expect from Pad Thai. Just a heads up—lines can get long, but they move quickly. If you need help, there are pictures on the walls. The menu is displayed both on the wall and on floor signs. You order at the counter, take your ticket stub, and then listen for your number. When your dish is ready, just hand them the stub to pick it up."

"Passed through while traveling. Ordered 2 garlic butters Chilli. The burgers had some kind of “sauce” on them *had the sandwich before never was there a sauce* asked the worker could we have the sandwiches remade minus the “garlic mayo” was told no. Asked for a refund was told yes. Got to the window the female worker said “I’m not refunding for the chili…i shouldn’t be refunding any of it cause there’s nothing wrong wit your order” well if the male worker just remade our burgers all of this could’ve been avoided. I would never stop at this location *or town* again"

"I ordered a hot dog meal for my granddaughter at this restaurant, and it was good. The fries were also tasty. However, we did not receive any ketchup with our order. We waited for about 15 minutes in the drive-thru and no one came back to assist us. Eventually, my husband saw a lady and asked her for ketchup. She handed us one packet, but when I requested more, she gave us another one in a very unpleasant manner and quickly closed her window. I don't think I will be returning to this restaurant. We are paying customers and expect better service. If you do not enjoy working there, perhaps it is best to find another job."
