"This was our visit to Balmoral and it won’t be our last. We thoroughly enjoyed our time, dinner, service. We were greeted with a warm welcome by the bartender was given our choice of tables at which to sit. The China sets (the shoe filled w/toothpicks is a nice touch) plaid runners on every table were a homey Scottish touch. Our waitress was so friendly accommodating from beginning to end. We began with soups: potato leek ham/pea; both were very tasty. Entrees: fish chips grilled salmon; excellent on both. Loved the idea of having shared sides of carrots, whipped potatoes, buttered potatoes, green beans. Will have to save room next time for desserts as they sounded delish. Thanks so much, Balmoral, as you are a start to a long awaited upcoming trip to Scotland Ireland. You’ve provided us a pleasurable start!😍"

"This is one of my favorite spots in the neighborhood! It is a great spot for happy hour and trivia which they offer weekly. I try to go here with my girlfriends on Thursdays when they run Ladies Night specials. Outside of Happy Hour time, drinks are pretty pricey for the area so I try to come in when they are offering some kind of deal or special. They also offer a bottomless brunch option which I haven't tried yet but can't imagine it's a flop based off my experiences here for dinner. I love that they go ALL OUT for holidays like Mardi Gras and St. Patrick's Day. As for the food, I typically get the Cobb Salad which is always made consistently and is satisfying. My friends have never had any issues with the dishes they've gotten (quesadilla, boneless wings, burger). My only complaint is that it can get VERY loud and draws a good crowd throughout the evening. The staff stays pretty on top of it though and the bartenders are always friendly. Overall, definitely a great spot to grab drinks with friends. You're not getting THE BEST food Forest Hills has to offer but a safe spot for sports bar bites!"

"Had to check this place out, right across the street from our hotel. Very glad we made the walk. An amazing atmosphere on the bar side with drinks flowing and people hanging out. The hostess takes us next door to the dining room and another great atmosphere but lower sound level. We started with Reuben fritters and Irish poutine. The fritters are over the top flavor bombs and the poutine was perfect with an excellent gravy. The fish and chips were on point with crispy fish and great flavor, the meatloaf is money with perfect texture and seasoning, the Shepherd’s pie was insane one of the best ever for me. If you’re in Syracuse you should check them out, if you live in Syracuse you’re lucky ?. ?"

"This restaurant consistently impresses us. Each item is unique in its own way. We came for the Smokin Tuna Poke on Chinese cabbage and decided to get the Thai shrimp bao tacos as an appetizer. They were absolutely delicious. The smokin tuna poke was amazing. We had so much fun with those menu items we included key lime pie for a dessert...so good! Can't wait to try more."

"I reserved the place for my husband's birthday after reading the positive reviews. It sounded fun. I now realize It is a bar with food...not really a birthday dinner place. We waited a while min to be seated with no kne else waiting...we thought maybe there was no host at on a Friday so we wandered to the bar but as we did we were greeted from behind by the hostess. I specifically asked for a table or booth in our reservation no bar or stools but were sat up hight on a stooled table. I think they hardley looked at our reservation because it wasn't crowded...or because there were only two of us, the nice booth tables were reserved for or more. I insisted on a table...our choices were either in the back with a family with children crawling everywhere or the table behind the hostess station. We took the non child option. Food was adequate. The drinks were good....alchohol, cava and beer, usually is. Even with happy hour prices we spent over a tip. We weren't upset with the experience but we likely won't go back or even mention it to others"

"We have been here several times over the years. The food is always good. The Little Gem Caesar salad was very good. The lettuce was nice and fresh and the dressing very creamy. The organic chicken was tasty, but the spinach was hard to chew and the little potato's didn't have a creaminess and great flavor. They were soft, but not wonderful. My husband had the salmon which he really enjoyed. He ordered it medium rare and it was perfect. The wait staff was very good. They were attentive and helpful. There were a few things I did not like. The restaurant has atmosphere, but it is too dark for someone with poor eye sight. There are too many steps for someone who has difficulty walking. When you come in from the back parking lot, there is a step up to the path (but no curb cut). There are 3 steps once you step into the restaurant. The lighting is quite dark. And, because the restrooms are downstairs, everyone uses the handicap bathroom. There is no clear sign that it should only be used by the elderly and truly handicapped. The other item is the menu. There are way too many items that are spicey. Most of the specials had either jalapeño peppers and/or chili flakes."

"This restaurant was not a good choice for a Thanksgiving meal. Despite making a reservation weeks in advance to ensure they were prepared for ADA accommodations for our family members in wheelchairs, we were seated in a noisy and high-traffic area with other diners and Festival of Trees attendees. The room was cold, despite a fireplace that seemed to be more for aesthetics than warmth. By 5 pm, the food was running low and the server was picking white meat off the bone to serve to guests, leaving us without turkey on Thanksgiving. The hot dishes were cold and there wasn't much left. Even when they replenished the food, it was quickly gone by the time we returned from the lobby area. We were able to get hot waffles and omelettes from the breakfast area, which was a saving grace. Our server Shelby was fantastic and provided excellent service, as did the breakfast chef. Unfortunately, the $250 dinner for four was not worth it."

"I visited to catch an Arsenal match at 11:30, and I was delighted by the barman who was not only very friendly but also exceptionally attentive. I ordered the breakfast burrito, which was exactly what I was looking for and reasonably priced. The pints were great, the location is excellent, and the staff is fantastic. I highly recommend this place, whether you’re here to watch a match or just to enjoy a few drinks."

"What a gem! Mayfield is the perfect date spot--dark and cozy, slightly upscale but still comfy, easy to get a table, tasty and affordable food and drinks. "Unfortunately I would not recommend this place. This place had decent reviews so we decided to go for my boyfriends birthday. When it was time to place our orders for our entrees there were lots of items that have been discontinued and instead of our waitress letting us know as soon as our menus were provided we were told when placing our orders. We had already been at the place a good 30 -40 mins and appetizers and drinks had already been ordered and provided to us. I ordered food for my daughter as soon as we got there and before the appetizers were ordered; not only did the appetizers get there first but her food was not even hot when she got it my daughter is 6 years old). Overall, I was not satisfied with the service. Would not go again or recommend to anyone I know."

"The food was disgusting, we returned 6 out of 7 appetizers that were served to us. The poor quality meat is poorly cooked and has a bad taste. They calculated every last cent of the bill. "I give this restaurant five stars for its warm and inviting atmosphere, as well as the incredibly friendly and attentive waitstaff. However, I was let down by the food, which I found to be overpriced. It arrived very quickly, which made me suspect it had been sitting out and simply reheated. We ordered the wings and chicken skewers—the wings were soggy and drenched in sauce, while the skewers lacked flavor. "Read the reviews had to see if it really was the best burger ever ... Did NOT disappoint. Wow they've won the local burger contest for a Reason. I got the Call Burger with the bacon jam so good. They over charge on the beer cheese for a small portion. It's semi odd misleading where you have to order cause you can order at all small booth or bar ??‍. Owner Adam was hella cool patient. Molly was great with the suggestions. I appreciate the genuineness vibe of the place. Will mostly Only come here for burgers when I'm back in Davis ??"

"The go-to place to just hangout with a group of friends for good cheap drinks in UES. I’ve been here several times with just other person and it was just as fun. The patrons are also locals from the neighborhood, so that’s nice. The crowd is one of the reasons why I kept coming back. I came here on a holiday one day and found some locals just hanging out, it was a good time. I miss this bar now that I’m not in this neighborhood anymore. I will definitely come back whenever I find myself in this area with friends."
