"Bijou 400 Broadhollow Rd. Melville, NY 11747 (631)755 5777 THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR AN AMAZING TIME ONCE AGAIN. Thanks Wayne Martini for letting me know about the car show and DJ Sal Scott. 7pm reservation and was running so late. Julie (Hostess) was very helpful is changing my reservation 3 times to a later time. 8:30pm. I got there but Julie was gone but of course I left $5 w/mgr Paul. Easy name to remember. That's my hubby's name. Paul was awesome. Very friendly and all smiles. Hostess Lucianna greeted me. I so love her lashes and she was so you happy and all smiles. Very chipper. Great personality. She too got a tip $3. I feel it's great to tip the hostess for when they are nice and helpful to you. I always do. I see Lia(server) and server from last Sunday Brunch. She again was our server but I again tip her $5 to show appreciation. We get seated and I'm dancing on my seat. I make sure to introduce myself to DJ Sal Scott. Lovely fella. Mike says hello to me as well. His the bouncer/security. Omg. He's huge but was a lovely guy. Teddy bear. So so nice, friendly and charming. He introduced me to another security staff that used to be a model. Very lovely fella as well. Nice pretty white front teeth. There was another security guard. Young man that helped take a video for me. I'm so grateful. Thank you so much. Forgot I had my hubby there to take pics videos. Lol. Once again great atmosphere, gorgeous and well dressed guests. Now the food. AMAZING. We get our food but unfortunately there was a misunderstanding. Chan (Mgr) resolved the issue and server still got 20% tip even though he wasn't really around. I saw Oscar and laughed about the error of me calling him Julio for that the name for my primary Dr. He laughed saying no problem. Brussels Sprouts A little crunchy w/garlic and very tasty. Asparagus wonderfully cooked and Parmesan cheese on top. Crispy Fried Calamari w/pepper my absolute fav so delicious. Crispy but soft with a bite. Perfection. Rock Shrimp Fried Shrimp w/peppers delicious sauce. French Fries Golden Crispy French Fries and soft in the middle. I have Mayo with it. Lamb Chops Herb crusted cooked to perfection. Soft like butter. Wagyu Sliders The perfect amount of everything. Yummmmmmy Everything was absolutely delicious. Will trying other things next time."

"We had requested the rounded corner booth in the main dining room and arrived 20 minutes early, planning to enjoy a cocktail at the bar. But instead, we were seated at a booth right next to our preferred one. A couple finished their meal shortly after we sat down, well before our 6:30 reservation. We ordered a Beefeater gin and tonic and a very dry Beefeater martini. Both drinks had an unusual, perfume-like scent that was quite off-putting. My wife sent her drink back, and I decided to switch to a Bombay martini, but the same strange floral fragrance persisted. I regularly enjoy Beefeater and Bombay dry martinis and have never experienced this odd aftertaste before. For my main course, the Duck and Porcini confit ragu had hardly any duck in it. There were only a few shreds of duck meat hidden in the tagliatelle, but no substantial pieces. My wife’s Pesto and Shrimp dish arrived swimming in a broth. While this might be a traditional way to serve it, there was no mention of broth on the menu. She had expected the pesto to be coated on the pasta and oily, rather than soupy. As much as we have loved Capriccio over the past three decades, this experience was disappointing. We didn't even stay for dessert. We'll certainly return, but I hope to avoid writing another negative review. I usually don’t share my thoughts unless absolutely necessary, but I felt compelled to do so this time."

"Our family of 4 spent the week traveling down the keys without a doubt, our best meal was enjoyed at Cafe Marquesa. This quaint little restaurant was absolutely perfect. From the warm welcome we received upon arrival, to our knowledgeable and entertaining server, Lucas, and each and every highly skilled attentive member of their staff, Cafe Marquesa far exceeded any expectations. Amazing is the adjective that best describes the freshness and mouth watering flavor that accompanied each bite that was taken. We started off the evening with refreshing strawberry fields cocktails and a few different appetizers. The prime beef carpaccio was a fabulous beginning, followed by mouth watering pan seared scallops, scrumptious Hawaiian glazed pork belly and the most delicious pan seared potato gnocchi in a pecan pesto cream sauce. Our entrees included the most delectable grilled veal chop paired perfectly with creamy potato gratin, beef tenderloin that melted like butter in my mouth, and pan-seared duck breast that was incredible. Chef Laurence made a special visit to our table and made our dining experience even more memorable. Although we had no room for it, we felt compelled to order a few desserts. WOW!!! If only I had known, we would have started with the key lime pie beignets. The warm, fluffy beignets were heaven sent I was able to make just enough room to enjoy a bite of the world class key lime pie take the leftovers home for a primo midnight snack! This was a dining experience that our family will always treasure. Cafe Marquesa, we cannot thank you all enough for the perfect close to our 2024 Florida Keys vacation."

Forlini's

"The last time I wrote a review concerning Italian cuisine, I referenced that the dish I had lacked character. To me, character in a meal means that it has to have multiple dimensions and qualities, something that brings out the best in a dish. At Forlini 's, when you order the Chicken Luigi, this is a dish that has lots of character, from the peppery chicken, to the porky sausage, to the aromatic garlic linguini, and then bring them all together to form one satisfying flavor. It is something that seems to lack in today 's Italian restaurants. They all want to try and be cute by going too original, or too zany. This one takes the risk by staying true to originality, but throws in a few sparks of uniqueness to make them stand out from just being that casual restaurant out of a Billy Joel song. The service is pretty typical of that, a down to earth owner who is more confident than a Wall Street banker that you will enjoy something. Intelligent, audacious, and an ability to understand what the customer wants without being too braggadocious about his offerings. It worked on me. It will be the best meal of your life. He said as he dropped the beautiful plate of food in front of me. Is it? No. But is it a good meal? No. It is a *great* meal. Try one piece of these succulent pieces of meat, and it will work well. Combine all three and throw in a few strings of pasta and you have to take another bite. When it gets too dense, eat a roasted red pepper that is in the sauce. It will clean out your pallet so you can reinvigorate yourself for that next bite. The portion size is so that you will be able to finish it all without feeling all the guilt that comes afterwards, so enjoy this with no shame. After all, it takes a lot of character to make such an experience here so special."
