"Wow. just wow. First time here. We arrived at 8:20pm and from the outside, felt a little skeptical since it was empty and looked like cafeteria style. But we were craving Indian food and so went in and up to the counter to check out the menu. We asked for recommendations as well as non dairy options and were immediately told that they could make adjustments as needed. Always appreciate the effort. Ordered samosas, shrimp saag with no dairy, chicken palak, kadai chicken, rice and garlic naan. More than enough for 2 people, but we wanted to try. Everything was cooked fresh to order, packed and ready to go in 20min. When we loaded it in the car, we just knew the garlic naan was going to live up its name. And when we got home and dug in, wow. Just wow. It was all sooo good. Nothing too strong, too spicy, too bland it was all perfectly seasoned. And the chicken in the curries?? I can't believe how tender. So good that I paused mid meal to write this because it would be a crime to not give credit where it is due. Back to eating now, and we will definitely be back!! Thank you good sir for all your recommendations!"

"I have dined at this restaurant twice. The first time was on a busy Saturday night when every table was full. The second time was tonight, and although it was less busy, there were still 5-6 tables occupied at once. The service was fantastic both times. The wait staff worked well as a team, taking our orders, bringing out our food, refilling our drinks, and efficiently bringing us the check. The food was also fantastic. We tried their samosas, garlic and regular naan, chicken korma, chicken tikka masala, lamb vindaloo, and channa masala. Each dish was excellent, not overly heavy like at other Indian restaurants in the city, but with a deliciously rich sauce. We also enjoyed ending our meals with their rice pudding, which was the perfect sweet finish. The value at this restaurant is great, with an appetizer, two entrees, and two desserts costing around $50 total. This is the best restaurant in Teele Square and one of my favorite spots in Somerville. I highly recommend this place!"

"Just come here if you? I (I am latino) and my partner, who is white, came and sat in this restaurant. Both are equally happy to order and try Indian Food. I never had it before, so I decided to leave myself? We sat and ordered drinks immediately and then for 30 minutes, I saw an absolutely ridiculous show. The two waiters who helped the other two pairs completely ignored us. Both of our drinks were basically gone, and the complementary water was already gone. You sat on the edge so that you can notice us? re ready to order, and we understand some places are understated and we were patient, another 15 minutes by and now we? She sat for 45 minutes, and he finally asked us? Will you order dinner tonight? It was nice to see they were very ready and flexible to the other white people. 10/10 would recommend if white skinned or identified as white."

"The food at this place was AMAZING!! The malai kofta was very good with really rich gravy, also the gobhi manchurian. All the food items we ordered were very good and not like other Indian restaurants, that have same gravies used for all curries. Will visit every time we go to Wilmington! Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3 Recommended dishes: Malai Kofta, Garlic Naan, Gobi Manchurian, Paneer Tikka Masala Recommendation for vegetarians: Highly recommend Vegetarian offerings: Large vegetarian selection Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free parking lot"

"This is the best Indian food joint I've had in my stay here in New York/Jersey. The owner/manager Hazel is the BEST company to have. We had such a good time being hosted by her. I have visited so many restaurants in the 60 days I've been here but this stands out for both service and the feeling of homely comfort you get with the food. We practically inhaled everything that was brought to our table. The fish chilly, Gobi Manchurian, Hakka Noodles, Chicken Lollipop, methi mattar malai (MUST HAVE). The desserts Kulfi and gajar halwa. Ufff!!! Can't imagine what life would have been like if i hadn't visited this place. Absolutely love it. Recommend it 10/10."

"Wow! The food here is delicious! Best Himalayan restaurant we have found so far. Full of flavor I suggest trying the Chicken Tikka Masala and Nan Garlic with cheese. Service was great they are so kind and polite. We stumbled on the restaurant cause they were open the earliest for lunch. The background music is pretty awesome its so soothing. They have a TV thay displays a video of hiking in Nepal. Pretty cool. We will definitely be back."

"We arrived about 25 minutes before 3 and there were people dinning in and still being served food as we waited yet they still didn’t allow us to dine in. This seemed silly since after we had to place a to go order we got our food and there were still people sitting inside eating. The worker just continually kept looking at her watch. The food itself—we got chicken tika masala, samosa, and chili chicken. The food was flavorful and hot. The spice level on both the masala and chili chicken were great. A bit of spice but mostly flavorful. Would go back to try more of the menu."

"Prepare yourself for a culinary journey gone horribly wrong. Golden Gate Indian Cuisine Pizza, claiming to offer a fusion of Indian flavors with the beloved pizza, falls victim to an abomination that should never have seen the light of day. Brace yourself for a taste experience that will leave your taste buds begging for mercy. As I took my first bite of the Indian Pizza at Golden Gate Indian Cuisine Pizza, I couldn't help but question the sanity of the person responsible for this monstrosity. Gordon Ramsay himself would be left speechless by the disastrous combination of Indian spices and pizza dough that resulted in a culinary catastrophe of epic proportions.Let's start with the crust. It was as appealing as a stale naan bread left out in the rain. Dry, flavorless, and lacking any semblance of the light and airy texture that defines a good pizza crust. It crumbled under the weight of the ill-conceived toppings, unable to provide a solid foundation for this culinary disaster. Now, onto the toppings. The mishmash of Indian spices and pizza ingredients created a cacophony of flavors that clashed with every bite. The chicken tikka masala topping was a sad excuse for what should have been a vibrant and aromatic curry. Instead, it tasted like leftover chicken drenched in a bland tomato sauce, desperately clinging to the hopes of salvaging some semblance of authenticity. As if that wasn't enough, the cheese on this atrocity was an absolute nightmare. It resembled a rubbery, tasteless slab that mocked the very essence of what cheese should be. It lacked the creaminess and melt-in-your-mouth goodness that one would expect from a pizza topping, leaving me questioning the integrity of their sourcing and storage practices. To add insult to injury, the overall presentation of the Indian Pizza was nothing short of hideous. The toppings were haphazardly thrown together, lacking any artistic finesse or attention to detail. It was a sad sight to behold, as if someone had given up halfway through the process, leaving behind a visual representation of their culinary incompetence.Golden Gate Indian Cuisine Pizza, it's time to face the truth. Your Indian Pizza is an embarrassment to both Indian cuisine and the sacred tradition of pizza-making. Gordon Ramsay himself would likely go into a fit of rage, unleashing a torrent of expletives to express his disbelief at such a culinary abomination.Save yourself the disappointment and steer clear of this misguided attempt at fusion cuisine. Head to a reputable Indian restaurant for authentic flavors or a dedicated pizzeria for a true taste of Italy. Spare your taste buds the torture that awaits them at Golden Gate Indian Cuisine Pizza. In culinary despair,Tiaga Nidhan"

"My smoke show wife and my folks tried 4 dishesto eat family style. 2 chicken dishes 1 beef and 1 lamb. They use a spice scale of 1-5 for heat level and we ordered the lamb at a level 3 and all the other dishes as a level 5 (we all like spice). The lamb dish was everyone 's favorite and just as spicy as the others. All of us liked different dishes the best and none of the dishes were disliked. I 'd like to give more details but I 'm far from a great Indian food mind!!! I have it a few times a year only. The amount of food for the price was responsible. I almost gave this joint 3 stars, as the guy answering the phone was cranky, hung up with out saying a simple good bye . This review is taking place during Covid times, so I 'll give him a pass on rudeness. Have been to this joint for the buffet pre covid and the service was perfect."

"Good experience for the two distinctive customer segments (whose gastronomic interests are seldom congruent) this place purports to serve. Balanced menu with fresh preparations which cover the key bases of North Indian cuisine. The lunch buffet stand was always kept loaded (and clean) with attentive supervision. Empty plates at the table are whisked away without request leaving one to enjoy one 's food without casting a glance at how many plates have used thus far. The buffet items are mostly standard fare with a nominal twist or two. Well planned workflow for the limited space of the buffet queue. Of course only regular diners (not yours truly) can comment on the changes between succeeding days. Not the least bit surprised that there was no seafood being offered because even though fish is cheaper than chicken or mutton (May 2022) these days, the thought to serve a Pescadores Item does not enter the minds of management. Although conversations float around the bi-level dining area, the place could not be called noisy. One can dine peacefully if necessary. Seating options based on the size of the group are readily made available."

"I've passed by this restaurant a hundred times without stopping, but today we decided to try it for dinner, and I'm so glad we did! The lamb biryani was among the best I've ever had, and the garlic naan was thick and perfectly moist. The spices balanced beautifully as I ate, without being overpowering. They also offer takeout, which I'll definitely consider for next time. Our server was fast, professional, and friendly. We will definitely be adding Essence of India to our regular dining rotation!"

"I had a terrible experience with their takeout service. They told me to wait 45 minutes, but after waiting for 1 hour and 30 minutes, my order still wasn't ready. It seems they prioritize dine-in customers over those who are ordering to go. This shows a lack of good business ethics, as everyone's time is valuable. Just because some customers have young children and prefer to eat at home doesn't mean they should be overlooked. The owner even admitted that dine-in customers are more important to them than takeout orders. Overall, I had a very disappointing experience."

"We're here for lunch one day. I didn't have much experience with Indian food, but her express lunch menu made it so easy. The food was excellent! So much taste and cooked for perfection. All for $9 lunch!! We decided to go back to dinner last night (it was that we couldn't wait to return) and had a fantastic meal again. The menu clearly explains the differences in food and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I could go on eating. So many flavors and simply excellent. My 15 years old said this was classified as their favorite food. Make yourself a taste... I mean favors (sorry couldn't help the doll) and check out Shalimar. You'll be so glad you did it!"

"Dining at Flavors was a delightful experience, filled with the rich aromas of India and incredibly delicious dishes, comparable to many restaurants in the USA. I enjoyed samosas, naan, and biryani for the main course, and indulged in gulab jamun and gajar ka halwa for dessert—both were delicious! I have visited numerous Indian restaurants, both in the US and India, but the menu here is impressively diverse, featuring a wide array of Indian cuisine. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the staff was exceptionally friendly. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Indian food. I look forward to visiting again soon!"
