"Great atmosphere and decor, very good northern Italian food and other diverse selections, excellent appetizers and charcuterie, surprisingly large well prepared portions, amazing bread, responsive service, but, sadly a self inflicted wound on the wine by a restaurant that calls itself a wine bar. Wine should be stored and served at 55 to 65 degrees. This is challenging for many restaurants who will hover around room temperature. Unfortunately, the bottle we ordered, a well selected unusual norther Italian gem, was nowhere near even that. It was every bit of 80 degrees. Literally warm to the touch as if it were close to bright lights or the kitchen. We had to put it in the water bottle chiller. At this temperature, for any length of time, wine “cooks”, a trade term indicating spoilage. Unfortunately, ours was close to “cooked” indicating long term poor hot storage. This is sad because Esca has a smartly selected list with some delightful options. It makes no sense why they would invest in very nice wines and then undermine them. We thought maybe it was our bottle alone but we saw other reviews complaining about the warm wine. The average customer might not notice but anyone with any wine expertise will. Please Esca, fix this.We would like to come back for your delightful food but frankly, we would be hesitant to order another bottle. What an unnecessary loss…"

"This is our favorite place in the world to travel and stay on vacation. We have been here many times but each time somehow seems to surpass the previous visit. (We think there might be some kind of join-the-W Hotel South Beach-cult-inducing ingredients in the fragrance that you breathe in when you arrive? We don't care, because we are avid members of any cult here! Okay, one might think we are biased because we already love it here. We are. But we still have our eyes wide open and have expressed our opinions on things that might have fallen short of our expectations and they listen and respond every time. The sheer expanse of the hotel, the lobby, the pool, the restaurants and bars is just mind blowing. Even when they are at capacity, they have a way of making us feel special. They take time to talk with us, get to know us, find out the things we like most and curate our stay with the utmost care and respect. This was our first visit back to South Beach in three years. There were several places we had been looking forward to because of past exceptional experiences. The only place that did not disappoint us was the W Hotel. Service has fallen across the board, across the world, for so many establishments due to staffing issues after the shutdowns. The W Hotel had even higher service standards with their teams and staffing for this visit. Our list of names that impressed us is even longer than the last time. (Big thank you's go out to Eric, and David (who is always there! at the front door, Lucey, Laura, Alex (both of them! , and Lucas in The Living Room. Rachel, Eddie, at the pool. La'Vander, Shawn, and the rest of the dancing beach team down at Sand. Sole, Andrew, and the other Insiders who made our visit perfect. George and Rick who hosted the cigar smokers event. The Style Team led by Andres just made the place sparkle! Ricky at RWSB was a welcome moment every time we interacted. Honestly, everyone we came in contact with was personable, caring, and helpful. The newly decorated rooms were quite peaceful. There is a beach-vibe happening with the colors and decor. Much cheerier than the previous modern/minimalist look that we also loved. They kept the iconic shell ceiling lamps that have an almost wind-chime effect when one walks by them. So calming. We are already planning our next visit. We will be watching for snippets of information and updates on Instagram. (We were told about some of the next updates and they will be quite fantastic! Thank you, everyone, at The W South Beach. We are genuinely big fans and appreciate every little thing you all do to make the place as close to perfect as it seems to be!"

"Winter Beer and I came here for a birthday dinner. We heard good things about the restaurant so, we decided to give it a go. When we entered the restaurant, it was pretty much empty and we were able to sit where we wanted. There was no hostess on staff so, we did have to wait a few minutes for our presence to be acknowledged. Our waiter was fun and entertaining when he did stop by to take our orders. However, the service was very non-existent because you had to flag someone down. Even though the place was very empty, no one came to check in on you and you were left to your own devices. WB ordered an old fashioned margherita with pepperoni $23) and loved it. It had the perfect amount of sauce, flavor, and grease. I ordered the plain old fashioned margherita $19) and found it to be flavorful and tasty. The sauce was a bit on the sweeter side but, I still found it to be yummy. We ordered a chicken parmigiana $22) to share and we thought the pasta was cooked to perfection. The flavor profile hit all the right notes and was delicious. I believe they used the same sauce in both the pizza and pasta. WB ordered three vodka and club and thought they were okay. I ordered a NY style cheesecake $8) and Chocolate Mouse cake $8). They were both tasty without being overly sweet. While the food was tasty, I felt like the prices were a bit high and the service to be lacking at times. However, if i am in the area and craving pizza, I would stop by."
