"Another win for Harlem USA! We were intentional about supporting a black business for our Kwanzaa gathering and Abyssinia Ethiopian Restaurant exceeded our expectations! Our first time dining at this location and it was a wonderful experience especially since we were a large group celebrating Kwanzaa. The staff was very warm and friendly, accommodating of all our requests and always with a smile. We had an amazing time. The food was delicious, not too spicy, oily or salty and very reasonably priced. I had the Veggie Combo for one about $20+ bucks that comes with string beans, lentils, collard greens, chick peas, cabbage and split peas. You can swap out any one of those items and double up on others. For example I swapped out the collard greens and got two servings of chick peas instead all served with a side of Injera (Ethiopian bread like wrap) which also comes with a gluten free option. The avocado salad was pretty good except for the tangy dressing which I felt was an acquired taste. I’d have it just plain next time. Everything was absolutely deelish overall!Remember you’re eating with your hands to have the full experience!Wheelchair accessible and free street parking but plan ahead as per usual NYC life? Would definitely recommend and we’ll be back for sure. Thanks for the outstanding service. Vegetarian options: Veggie Combo delivers a win! Parking: Took a couple circles around the block but found street parking on Saturday night in Harlem!"

Great place, great food and very reasonable price. We ordered a veggie and meat combo and it was big enough for me and my wife. The waitresses were very kind and we felt very pleased. Highly recommend!

Absolutely adore Ethiopian food and how the vegetarian offerings are typically vegan. We normally get the Abyssinia veggie combo as it includes beets. Tons of tasty options, the fossolia is my favorite hands down. View menu

This was my first time trying Ethiopian food. It was delicious! I ordered pickup, and as soon as I entered I was nicely greeted by staff. The restaurant itself looked beautiful. Great service and amazing food. Highly recommend if you’ve never tried Ethiopian food.

This is one of the best Ethiopian foods for NYC. Trust me, in Ethiopian. The injera is authentic (if you see injera that is white vs gray, you know you’re getting played). Their Kitfo and Derek tibs is really good and my go-to. Only thing I’ll say is they use a bit too much butter. Vegetarian options: Ask for Veggie combo View menu

Little pocket of goodness damn this place rocks and was the perfect place to stop with a few out of towners while seeing a show close by. I legit couldn’t stop eating. Everything was flavorful, cooked perfectly and the service was wonderful. Great Ethiopian food best I’ve had in nyc. Will be back if I’m in the neighborhood.

I scarfed it in my car on the way to something, but the dining room is lovely, and I'm coming back for Mother's Day with my injera-addicted mother. I haven't had Ethiopian food this fresh, this lovingly prepared, or this scrumptious in AGES. RUN don't walk there. The end. Vegetarian options: Chickpea and cabbage/carrot veg sides are scrumptious as well!

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
